I think you need to concentrate more on the Not In Any Name style tracks and less on the My Voodoo Doll side of things. I agree the album is a bit too pop for my tastes at times but there are definitely some tunes in there that make it worthwhile overall :)

I think it’s definately an album that grows on you with repeated listens, post in a couple of days and let us know what you think then!

its kinda ironic that one of the reasons the band looked down on semi-detatched was because it was too light, but its still heavier than the last 2 albums.

but I like MVD - don’t think it’s achetypal T?, but certainly wouldn’t skip it, Watch You Go, or Never Ending.

Would think that it would make a good single if the band wanted to get higher than no. 76.

My favourite band at the minute (apart from T?) is Opeth. Possibly the best metal band - ever! Despite being a huge fan of the heavy stuff, HA is one of the best albums I’ve heard in years.

I’m not a T? fan to the point I like everything they do. In fact I’d go as far as to say (IMO) they have at least 2 albums which are pretty average and border on dull!

Give HA a chance. Stick it on repeat and I’m sure you’ll begin to appreciate it for the balls out rock that it is. T? are back - and in style :)

I see your point but to be honest I meant ‘back’ in the same way that any band releasing a new album are ‘back’.

The ‘comeback’ attitude in the press does piss me off though. Fans are well aware that they never went away but I know loads of people who thought the band were no more. I suppose the poor promotion of the last few albums can only have helped with the idea that T? had vanished.

Even the Rock Sound review on this site says ‘Certainly comeback of the year’.

If it’s frustrating for us fans it must really piss of the band :(

Must admit I was a bit unsure of HA on the first listen. But it grew on me and now I love it. I can’t think of a single track I don’t like.

It makes a refreshing change from most albums I’ve heard over the past year. Most seem to have a few decent tracks and then pad it out with any old rubbish.

so i’m on my 10th listen in the last 24 hours… haven’t listened to anything else… and i’ve listened to it in different ways (headphones, car, while on the computer, during sex - oh wait, not that one - yet! :D)…

the following i really like:

the following have been growing on me:
- hey satan
- not in any name

the following are blah:
- stand in line
- nobody here but us
- limbo

the following are shit IMO:
- watch you go
- my vodoo doll (agree with Alan, worst on the album)
- last blast
- never ending

so what’s that, 5 out of 12… not great… i know i should give it time, and i will, but on the songs i put in my ‘shit’ catagory i really can’t see getting into… i remember when sp-yf came out, i wasn’t really into that, but that was more because i wasn’t expecting it and never really heard something so agressive… so it wasn’t really the songs, although i hated 10 year plan & other peoples misery… now sp-yf is my fav. album, but i still don’t really like those 2 songs… what i’m saying is that as much as you can give an album time, sometimes you just know there are songs that are not going to grow on you no matter what… this album seems to have quite a few of those… :(

but maybe i’m just talking out of my ass and a month from now i’ll be saying how great the album is… we’ll see…

i think we should demand my voodoo doll to be removed form the album… just kidding. I mean we all know T? are way better than a song like that and to release it well…does anyone not remember meat abstract punishment kiss, now that should be the next single…!!!!!!

hi matthew, i don’t agree with you about the HA-thingy (i like it a lot, and then especially watch you go and my voodoo doll), but the above quote… well, it could literally be mine. i still don’t really know what to think of tenyearplan and otherpeople’smisery, but sp-yf definitely is my all-time-favourite-t?-record as well. don’t know why, maybe because it was fresh, and totally new, maybe because of the fuck-you-attitude, don’t know… i just like it sooooooo much more now than i did the very first days i got it.. maybe *here goes the psychologist in me* that’s the same for you about the HA-album, can’t find another reason..

anyway; hope you’ll start liking it soon - it’s worth!(*we will have to kill you otherwise* ;))
