I’ve seen them live and the intro to their first song must have gone on for a good 20 minutes, after which I was bored and left.

And what intro/song was that then??

Dunno, something boring with lots of guitar widdle. I think they were just trying to do a ‘look at us’ big intro to the gig - get on with it!

One hand tied behind their backs? Won’t that make playing the guitar a bit difficult?!

Ever seen Jason Becker, john Petrucci, YJ Malmsteen… ?
They can play entire songs just by hammer ons and pull offs

I know you’re joking though :)

And when was that gig actually? Maybe that gives an indication of which song it could be…

During the last tour, they usually started with So What or Breadfan… and that did not take 20 minutes…

Just my guess man.
I once saw them stretch it very long (with the fade-in and shit), with Hammet soloing over it. Lasted for more than a minute… (that guy probably meant it in a way of speech)

It was at a festival. It was either at a Leeds Carling Weekend or V???? but I can’t remember which. A few years back, maybe about ‘97 or ‘98. Sorry I have a poor memory, so many gigs, so many beers…
