the DVD-matter…!

Greetings to all T-people and whatever…!
If everyone that wanted a T-DVD should pay in-advance, than the band and the “whatever label production company” would get a clue on how many actuall copies they would sell, becauase to be honest, only the die-hard fans on this board would actuallu buy it…so maybe 200-300 DVD:s in total???
Is it worth to put a DVD which will sell 300, plus maybe some 100 copies 5 years later…or am I totally wrong…be honest…heh-he…smiles*

He-he…yes that´s my point…or if they release a “real” limited edition around 500 copies, then people would buy it, but again what would be the “econimical cost” for just releasing 500 copies…? *I Hope I´m wrong*

For labels such as Eagle, that’s OK, but not really good.

I think they will have problems with relasing this kind of DVD, as the rights belong to different companies. And nobody release DVDs with so many gigs :) But anyway it would be cool.
Probably someone could release a home-made DVD with the same content ;)

Title: Therapy DVD

if Therapy? were to press an official music DVD, I guess they could easily sell 1000 copies, and it probably wouldn’t be hard to sell 2000+ copies worldwide.

the main cost in producing a music DVD is editing and production. if Therapy? were to transfer pre-edited footage, such as the Brixton gig from ages ago, that would mean the main cost would be paying a DVD production company to stitch it all together.

it probably wouldn’t be economical to distribue a DVD such as this through high-street chains, but it could be economical as a fan-club purchase

it would be great if there was a massive Therapy? resurgence, with an interest similar to that back in the early 90’s - then it would be worth while (from a commercial point of view) releasing a Therapy? best-of DVD

sadly it’s more likely that the best of Therapy? DVD will only end up as a bootleg

i still think a double DVD in the style of ‘So Much for the Ten Year Plan’ would be great. disc one live. disc two promos. i would happily pay £20 for that!

i shall keep dreaming

i’d be happy, if they put an extra dvd to the next album like turbonegro did with scandinavian leather. a few live songs, studio diary and the newest video, that would be it.
i think if they would release a best of dvd (with, let’s say all videos, interview etc.etc. on it) they’d probably sell about 1000 copies. they wouldn’t get rich, but i’d be o.k. to sell on gigs end on their own homepage.

by what i gather is they are dvding the belfast gig, which is cool…
but as opposed to live stuff i would prefer their promotional stuff…
opal mantra, nausea etc vids
the isolation vid made for mtv, the late late show appearance where they were supposed to play isolation and played knives F~~k you Gaybo…(and the stories broadcast simultaneous on 2fm)and the pat kenny show…
The acoustic die laughing at the mercury awards, dont expect roses at the hot press awards…
and that sort of stuff!!
ah well thats my two cents…

I just got a bootleg DVD on ebay - Therapy? Anthology. Its really good quality — 3 shows from Germany: One in 1993, and the Bizarre shows from 1998 and 2000. It kicks ass - especailly the show with the original line up (not a smile between em)

That Esssen gig was great wasn’t it, especially the first half of the set was fucking excellent!

They didn’t smile or talk much back then, did they? I loved that from the early gigs, there was always a kind of tension onstage (kinda similar to Nirvana), that really worked well. Makes for compulsive viewing :)

“having a face, which is nicht sehr schon”

English/German combo there from Andy, he’s talking about being ugly, basically …”having a face which is not very nice”

Don’t worry Christian - it took me ages to figure out what Andy was talking about as well!
