can’t get that song out of my ears today!

ASH LYRICS

“Stay In Love Forever”

She is my Christ,
She is my redeemer,
The architect of my dreams,
She’ll stay with me forever,
The mention of her name,
Goes through me like a spear,
The mention of her name,
And I will surrender,
There’s no need to fight it,
There’s no need to hide it,
There’s no need to doubt it,
Stay in love forever,
Stay in love forever.
Your voice in the morning,
Makes everything clearer,
All my doubts are gone,
And pain I can’t remember,
Deity incarnate, celestial redeemer,
To me your name is sacred,
To you I will surrender,
There’s no need to fight it,
There’s no need to hide it,
There’s no need to doubt it,
Stay in love forever,
Stay in love forever,
Stay in love forever.
Pure, complete, unbounded,
Absolute and overpowered,
Perfect and transcending,
For once for all and forever,
She is my Christ,
She is my redeemer,
The architect of my dreams,
She’ll stay with me forever,
Love that won’t die,
She is revolution,
Tender sweet godsend,
I’m granted absolution.

replace “she”, it must be “he”!

most ash b-sides are the stuff that other bands wished their a-sides sounded like.

nah, can’t stand ash. Their stuff just doesn’t do it for me. I saw them at leeds last year and although I could see why they are popular it didn’t float my boat.

I quite like Ash, have done since their early releases, but when 1977 came out I went off them! I think his voice is a bit weedy for some of the ballads, especially “Oh Yeah”, I thought that was just horrible!

I do quite like some of their recent material though, Nu Clear sounds was ok too, I don’t think it deserved the panning it got. Gotta give them credit though, they were on the verge of bankruptcy and pulled it back from the brink. Must be something about NI bands!

And anybody who burns Toploader’s demo tapes must be ok!

They also burned a load of Westlife cds.

I think Nu Clear sounds is underated, there are some great tracks on that album Projects,Numbskull,Folk Song,I’m Gonna Fall. They should have probably included A life Less Ordinary on it as well.I think its a fine album.

Ash are fantastic live. I’ve seen them so many times I’ve lost count. Shames me to say this but I’ve seen them more times than T? but having said that, they done loads of gigs and any festivals I have been to, Ash have always been there. I’ve only seen T? at two festivals - Witnness and Ozzfest in Ireland. They should be playing some this year.

Anybody see Ash supporting T? in the Ulster Hall many years ago. That was a cracker gig. Also on the bill was Joyrider and all the bands were from N. Ireland.

i like ash but most of the stuff from their last album was way too popy for my taste, sounded like they were trying to pick up a following of teenage girls or something.

still am hopeful they’ll get their act together for the next album.

All you Ash lovers will be delighted to hear that they’re going to join T? at the VISIONS Westend festival in Dortmund on Sunday, 27 July. It’s a bit like a dèja vu as they both played at the VISIONS Anniversayr Show in Dortmund in June 2001.
By the way, a band that covers ‘Only In Dreams’ by Weezer and really blows you away only hours after a lacklustre Weezer gig at the Hurricane in 2001 can’t bee too bad.

oh yeah. my first gig when i was sweet sixteen. ricky warwick and skin were there too. where has the time gone? :(

fyfe was a bit of a hero of mine so i’m glad i went - my wee bro didn’t want to go because he couldn’t afford it but i made him go to the ticket shop and hand over the money in coppers! he was glad he went seeing as fyfe quit after that…

anyway, i thought ash were shite. JoyRider completely blew them away and did so consistently any time i saw them.

still, i’m an ash fan though. is the new album any good, and what’s the deal with the special edition?
