The wake up is indeed from Bladerunner, but Roy Batty was Rutger Haugher wasn’t he? It’s not him, it’s the guy who went on to be in the 5th Element who says that!

Someones nicked my copy of blade runner so I cant check but Im fairly sure it is Roy. Leon has a totally different voice. Has anyone ever sampled his “tears in the rain” speech in anything?

It was Leon who said “Wake up, time to die”
Roy said the cool speech at the end, which included “Time to die”

Not with Therapy?, but I remember watching “Cool Hand Luke” and the sample from GN’R’s “Civil War” was in it. As I was a naive little 12 year old at the time, I freaked out. I never realised bands took stuff from films.

But I generally tend to watch films especially to hear Therapy? samples that I know are there. I rented “Easy Rider” and “Bladerunner” just to see them, and put them into context.

yeah i was watching some random film on tv (which turned out to be electra gilde in blue) and all of a sudden i hear all of the loser cop samples. Very drunk at the time and found it quite disturbing.
Strange thing is the sample makes just as little sense in the film as it does in the song…

heh. yeah, i saw Devil in Miss Jones and recognized the “My voice is nothing. My thoughts are nothing. In many respects I’m like you — nothing” bit from Innocent X.

I thought that was from star trek (it says so on http://www.suicidepact.com anyway). I saw electric glide in blue (or something) on ITV one night and it had the entire loser kop sample at the beginning.

honestly it being from th emovie makes
more sense.. doesn’t *seem* like something

it does sounds a lot like will shatner though, that
stop-start voice of his is so distinctive (and funny!)

personally i don’t think it sounds like Shatner at all, and the stop-start aspect sounds like a result of the sample being clipped a bit.

You guys all probably know this already, but you know that heavy breathing at the start of Innocent X? It’s Michael McKeegan breathing down a telephone.
Our band was down recording with Mudd Wallace (producer of Babyteeth) and he was telling us some insider info…
