Unless I check tonight (which I might if you’re very lucky), this will be my last post for a week or so, as tomorrow I’m off to sunny London and then onto sunnier Romania on Saturday, tracking wolves, and going to Castle Bran, which may or may not be owned by the Cheeky Girls.

AND it looks like I’m going to be back to work in a few weeks time as well!

Hoorah for me, take care all, esp BB, Alan, Rene, Sarah, WP, Dano, Ronald and anyone else I’ve missed (Sab - you still out there?).

Have a fantastic time mate, we shall be thinking of you when we’re in Belfast - I hope the wolves put on as good a show ;)

Hey CE, you should be back any day now; I hope you had an excellent time! Too bad you weren’t around to celebrate Sarah’s birthday (we’re all out of beer already, sorry mate), but hey, she isn’t around herself either :-)

What’s the story on the new job by the way? Congrats!

At the gay bar? :D

I’m back now! Would carry on celebrating but too much afternoon beer means I am falling asleep now. Is Citizen coming home today or tomorrow?

Got home last night, but had lots of sorting to do and stuff, hence only back on line today, to find 1230 unread posts.

Romania was fantastic, and I recommend it to anyone who likes walking up bloody great mountains. The only wolves we saw were 2 captive ones that had been rescued from a fur farm, but we did see some wild wolf tracks and found a wolf turd. Saw quite a few bears though, which was cool.

Bugger to come home really. Was about 30C out there as well, so I’m now nicely tanned, and my G/F is burnt.

Now have 4 weeks to find somewhere to live in London before starting a new job auditing auditors - make of that what you will. The money’s okay and will hopefully mean another holiday at some point in the not too distant future.

Sarah - belatedly happy birthday - hope you had a good one.

Hope the Belfast gig was also good, but no doubt there’s a thread on that that I’ll come to in a minute.

And the Romanians would like to say ‘stop going on about Dracula’.

lol@ the Romanians, sorry about that :D

As you said, Belfast shenanigans are all over the boards so you should know what we got up to by now. Cheers for belated birthday-ness, all was cool, pints consumed etc etc, happy days…

Glad to have you home, just hasn’t been the same without you, though it’s a shame your holiday wasn’t quite as wolfy as planned. Hope you still had an amazing adventure and good news about the job :)

The bears made up for the wolves, and we got close enough to the tame ones for me to get pictures of them without getting the wires of their enclosure in the shot, so I can tell people that they were wild.

The ‘official’ people that run Castle Bran were keen to stress that there’s no direct evidence that Vlad the Impaler ever stayed there, but there were a few stalls in the market outside selling Dracula T-shirts. Our guides’s attitude was pretty much ‘Romania has a lot to offer, so please look at what we really have, and not get too hung up on a novel by some English guy.’ Which is a fair point, we get upset by the standard cliches that the Americans have of us etc.

Don’t let anyone tell you the food is crap out there - it was great, especially the cake shop near the Black Church in Brasov.

Was really cool to come back and find people had been thinking of me!

No, that’s my mistake I’m afraid. Same difference though, from a Romanian point of view.
