Without wishing to set the cat among the pigeons, what if you could pick 2 songs off every album and one overall wildcard that you wish just hadn’t been there?

1. 30 seconds - it’s ok but not great
2. Misery - again, not ground breaking

Troublegum _(1994)
1. Die Laughing - ok, but weakest track on album
2. Stop it your’e killing me - have heard it too many times
Nurse _(1992)

1. Hypermania - only fyfe’s druming saved this one (have you tried to drum along?)
2. Accelerator - not my cup of tea

Pleasure Death _(1992)
1. DLC - their worst instrumental track
2. Potato Junkie - just because it sounds so much better live - the recording is a bit week or something

Babyteeth _(1991)
1. Loser Cop
2. Skyward - I love this album and these tracks, but still had to choose two

Wildcard
1. the hidden track on HA - don’t know what it’s called, dont care.

Pretty hard to do isn’t it? Although as I once heard Therapy? described - “Yeah, they’re a really good band, but they have written some turkeys!” Pretty accurate statment I thought.

yes - pure and utter shite, only superceeded by the disgrace that is my vodoo doll. if they play this on friday night to the cost of a decent tune (eg animal bones) i will shit in my pants - and not in a good way either (if there is one).

one of the things i like seeing here is the vast difference in the songs people really like by this band. everyone likes ‘em for something different, it seems.

as for those two, Skyward is a weak track IMO, and i picked Dancin’ with Manson because it was somehow less perfect than the others. those two albums (Babyteeth/Pleasure Death) were the absolute hardest to choose “clunkers” from.

That’s actually a really tricky thing to do…
For me, the vast majority of these choices have been been based on “Well, which tracks to a love least?” as opposed to “Which do I hate most?”
Which can only be a good thing, methinks :)

There are more songs of which the lyrics in the early version are different. The lyrics in the early version of Misery (on the Not Lunacy bootleg I believe) were way different, same for Me vs You, Tightrope Walker, Don’t Expect Roses, Church of Noise, etc. So it’s not that special.

*shrugs* I dunno… after however many years of hearing it, it’s not aged as well as most Therapy? tracks in my opinion. For instance, I can imagine tracks like Innocent X still exciting me, ten years from now, but I usually skip Turn these days. It’s wore out it’s welcome, or something.

Plus, it never really felt “at home” on Troublegum, if you ask me.
