The DJ in Lavery’s on Friday was playing some tunes which I were told were Radiohead. Much to my surprise, I quite enjoyed it. I hope that remains the case when there’s less alcohol involved ;)

Title: Any thoughts on the new album?
I’ve just got the new Radiohead album and I think it’s great. Saw them in Belfast last month and heard the new songs for the first time that night and I just couldn’t wait for the album to come out. I didn’t even bother downloading. Just wanted to buy it, stick it on and enjoy it.
Favourite tracks so far are There There, 2 + 2 = 5, Myxomatosis, Where I End and You Begin and Scatterbrain.
Anybody else like the album?

Title: Radiohead (merged)
Faviroute album?
I wasn’t particuarly keen on Amnesiac or Hail to the thief, but ‘O.K computer’ and ‘Kid A’ for me are still at the top of the best radiohead albums.
‘Kid A’ is fantastic, although the album takes patience, something which alot of Radiohead fans couldn’t be arsed with.
O.K computer is probably my faviroute Britpop(if you can call it that) album, closely followed by Urban hymns.

I don’t think Kid A really takes patience at all, as an album in its own right. It’s just not what a lot of fans were expecting at the time. And so, as you said, they couldn’t be arsed with it. ;)

i must admit i hated kid a at the time when it came out. but after a few years of perseverance it’s now probably one of my favourite radiohead albums. the first three i don’t really listen to now purely because i listened to them so much before. pablo honey is crap though (a few exceptions: anyone can play guitar, vegetable, creep, stop whispering). i really like amnesiac though. hail to the thief is a good record but it’s mostly forgettable stuff (again, a few exceptions: wolf at the door, sit down stand up, we suck young blood). in order of preference: amnesiac, kid a, ok computer, the bends, hail to the thief, pablo honey.

Neither of them are really britpop, to be honest.
Anyway, Radiohead thread I haven’t seen before. In order of preference (although I’ve barely listened to anything other than the top two for a couple of years now, found it very easy to get bored of Radiohead): Kid A > Amnesiac > OK Computer > Pablo Honey > The Bends > Hail To The Thief

Thats your preference ?
I think Amnesiac is the worst album by any band, ever !
The Bends and Ok Computer are 1 and 2 respectively for me.

Last time you said this, I suggested you should listen to more music.
And I still suggest that.

Pablo Honey, I think is okay but not much more, except Creep which I’m very fond of.
