Any band?

#

Started by Ballbreaker

I was watching a G,N,R video the other day the Illusion era, and was thinking how fucking great it would be to go back in time to see them. Anyone got a particular band they would like to see but unforunatly never will?

others:
G’N’R’

Totaly forgot about Fischmob, always wondered how a live show by them would be and what kind of people listen to their music.

Nirvana … was so very close - had tickets to see them on the last European tour in 94, but …

even though i wasn’t alive, i would have liked to have seen artists and bands from the 50’s, 60’s and 70’ such as The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin and Jimi Hendrix. Would be interesting to see what they were like live, and if they lived up to the rose-tinted memories of fans at the time.

guess it would have been cool to have seen Mozart on tour. I wonder how many night’s he could sell-out at London Arena???

I always thought seeing them right before seeing Stabbing Westward would have been damn cool. Anyways, one Summerfest here in Milwaukee I was getting ready for a Stabbing Westward show, having gotten to the grounds after working a shift. Outside the stage I hear a song I recognize. I flipped out. It was the last song they did, and they weren’t even announced to be there.

After the show they were selling and signing T-shirts and crap. Low and behold, I had $3 in my pocket.

Well, last I heard anything bout em was in ‘99. Ah well.

Hüsker Dü - biggest influence to my musical taste.

Some remarks to the other bands mentioned:
Anyone wishing to see G’n’R again - be glad you missed them, they were crap live (I’ve seen them once in Cologne and it would have been wasted time if Faith No More and Soundgarden weren’t the support acts).
The Smashing Pumpkins - on stage never as good as on record.
Fischmob - great party uniting hiphop lids and indie kids alike.
Nirvana - one of the sweatiest shows I#ve ever been to.
Ramones - so sad Joey had to go. But check out bands like the Groovie Ghoulies or the Hanson Brothers, the Ramones spirit lives on.
The Bates - how low can you go? :D
Pavement - go and see Stephen Malkmus, nothing much has changed.

Suicidal Tendancies.

Loved them to bits but at the time I lived in the middle of nowhere, had no means of getting there and none of my friends would go with me (and being a young thing I was too scared to go on my own - know better than that now).

donVutz,
I once got to see Fichmob in a very small venue in Munich and it was fuckin’ awesome. I was never so much into their music but the show (if you want to call it so…) was really funny!
I personally can’t understand you named the Bates; I’ve never liked them!

I also had the pleasure to see the Smashing Pumpkins’ last ever gig in Europe; everybody was ready to rock and they opened their show with a 30 minute acoustic set…

the bates are the perfect summer soundtrack. well, 70% of their songs stink, but the rest is briliant.

my sister went to a festival with RATM, L7, David Bowie and 2 or 3 other good bands in the early nintees and didn’t take me with her. i really wish i would have been there.

And I’ve never managed to see Rage Against The Machine, one of my all time favourite bands and how it pisses me off, you can’t imagine. I must have said a million times, “I’ll go see them next time they tour”. Then they split

Oh donVutz, one of these other good bands have been The Prodigy and they really kicked ass that evening.
But you’re right you should’ve been there, it was a brilliant evening at the Westfalenhalle in Dortmund.

To those who talked about the Prog, saw them at Reading, very cool, but far far far too crowded and crushed to really enjoy it.

In terms of bands, Nirvana.

Never seen Body Count either, but I hear they are doing a new album, so you never know.

Beatles, obviously, but I wouldn’t have enjoyed them in a stadium thing, so that is even less likely than impossible.

Another one: Soundgarden.
