i think that it’s a perfect way how babyteeth “flows over” into pleasure death.

doesnt make it a bad album though. would be good if they re-recorded the whole thing and released it as CP03 or something…

Title: High Anxiety

Just got my copy of High Anxiety which I’ve had on pre-order for ever, but well worth the wait. Therapy? have never made a bad album in fact, they have catered for all of their Schizophrenic fanbase by releasing something for every occasion. Must admit, I had my doubts about Infernal Love when I first played it, but it grew on me. Shameless … well, the clue was in the title. Excellent band that got me through University in the early 90’s. Now then, gimme back my brain

Title: Troublegum

For sentimental reasons. First Therapy? album I bought. I’ll never forget, I put it in, Knives played, it rocked. Then Screamager started, and all was good in the universe. I realised that Therapy? was the musicians of my soul.

WORD THANK YOU. I really love OK Computer
(especially as they went to crap past
that), but The Bends is just a great
simple rock album.. which speaks to me
alot more than a semi-electronica
“anthem” / “the wall” album.

“The Bends” and “OK Computer” are equally heavenly but since “OK Computer” is more a winter album and “The Bends” is a summer CD i prefer the latter. Still, it’s the same as with “Semi-Detached” and “Troublegum” or “Angel Dust” and “King For A Day… Fool For A Lifetime”: I can hardly decide which one I like better

Title: why

why did shameless get zero votes (I voted for it), I haven’t got it yet, but from what I’ve heard from the samples all songs rock. Is it really that bad since noone voted for it?

the problem with shameless for me is, that half of the songs rock big time, 2 or 3 are just ok, and the rest of the album is the biggest bullshit they’ve ever done.
all in all, it’s not a bad album, but quite weak for t? standards. and in no way it’s my favourite t? album.

Title: oh?

For me that seems a little wrong. I’ve clicked on adiou samples for all albums and shameless sounds the best:

1) Gimme Back My Brain - This is a real killer. I had this on mp3 once, it’s just so heavy riffed and good. If you don’t like this song u don’t like therapy.

2) Dance - This song is actually quite average, the main riff is ok and the chorus is hell, so the song sums it up as average.

3) This One’s For You - The guitar plunking riff here sounds like some old commodore 64 game. I probly can’t tell wheter this song is good by that short clip.

4) I Am The Money - Nahhhh, perhaps a little cool.

5) Wicked Man - Now this album starts to get really interesting. This song is beatiful and has a great melody.

6) Theme From Delorean - Sounds like a freaky boogie-woogie to me. Nothing spectacular.

7) Joey - Sounds like som gigantic riff-puller. Can’t tell from 30 sec sample.

8) Endless Psychology - I heard the demo and with lyrics it sounds much better, but it’s not the best I’ve heard.

9) Alrite - OH GOD! (sounds good in the end!)

10) Body Bag Girl - Sounds annoying and quite good ;)

11) Tango Romeo - WOW. This one is amazing. I can’t understand if you hate this one.

12) Stalk & Slash - Can’t hear much from 30 sec sample.

Okey, perhaps not as good as I thought :( :)

Heh, I was actually planning to post in another thread about my Shameless thoughts but will do here since I can’t seem to find it. I think I pretty much agree with up_in_flames’ summary:

Gimme Back My Brain Standard T? tactic of crappy first song (see Church of Noise), a bit too widdly and I didn’t really care for the sentiment.
Dance Like the ‘wired to the…’ bit but ‘fuckland’ concept is as cheesy as track one.
This One’s For You Actually, yeah this one is for me - I like it!
I Am The Money I like the riff but the shouty chorus sucks.
Wicked man Boring.
Theme From Delorean Alright in parts I guess.
Joey This song has no redeeming features!
Endless Psychology Chorus is okay.
Alrite Crap!
Body Bag Girl More crap!
Tango Romeo/Stalk and Slash Quit paying attention by this point.

I can’t believe any of that, Sarah. Shameless fooking rocks. There are obviously one or two tracks that stand down on a first listen, and for me they were Endless…, and …DeLorean. Sorta followed by Dance. I took another look at Dance after I heard it live at Ocean — it worked very, very well there. And now, I love the whole album. There’s no tracks I skip through.

But, again, it’s personal opinion, isn’t it. I haven’t understood how so many people have said the latecomer, Not In Any Name, is their favourite HA track, when I still, (at least in the car, or when the controls are near) totally skip that track. The rest of HA: rocking.

I even use that track (in the last tour) as a chance to have a wee (oo-er) and get some water.

I recently got out shameless agian and had a listen and I must say it is REALY good. Maybe not their best but it is gooood. And if you’re an Ulsterman you love the joey track, never mind the music. Joey Dunlop is a legend. I love that song.

I think it’s a lot more imaginative than say Semi-Detached or even Troublegum.

Title: shameless

gimme back … : cool opening, blows your mind against the back of your head from the first scream to the last
dance : good decent rock song, like they should be
this one …: sing-a-long all the way, one of their best bridges
I am the money: kinda grungy, so that can’t be bad, cool ending
wicked man: steaming proto-punk, the stooges way
theme from… : paranoid singing, drives you mad to the end
joey: ROCK’N’ROLL !!!!!!!!!!!
endless … :cool lyrics, cool chorus, cool song
alrite: less rock’n’roll as joey, but still more as nu-metal or punk-pop
body bagg girl: alright, one bad song, happens to the best
tango romeo: nice road-song, cool lyrics,
stalk ‘n’ slash: some say your head might explode if you listen to this to much

Do you not think hearing the full album, and not just 30 second samples, before giving an opinion, makes more sense?

Here’s my opinion, for what it’s worth

Excellent tracks: Dance, This One’s For You, Theme From DeLorean, I Am The Money, Stalk & Slash

Good Tracks: Gimme Back My Brain, Wicked Man, Tango Romeo

Average Tracks: Endless Psychology, Joey

Poor Tracks: Alrite

Worst piece of shit ever: Body Bag Girl

“Joey” came very close to being in the ‘poor’ catagory, but I thought it’s better than “Alrite”, so I upgraded it! :)

I’m in Ireland and some days it’s warm, some days it’s raining. That’s okay ‘cos normally, it just rains everyday!
