audio lave or rage

hey personally i think that rage against the machine are by far the better band, their music seems to have so much more energy and emotion to it, also zacks voice fits in so much better to the bands music then chris cornells does in the new audioslave stuff. maybe its just due to me listening to rage for so many years but i think that pretty much all the audioslave songs sound like old rage riffs and licks which are jsut played in different places or slightly changed.

i know some of you will disagree but rage rule and i curse the day they ever split.

I’d have to go for RATM just because they were one of the bands that I grew up with and really shaped my music taste. Killing In The Name is still one of *the* tracks you have to hear when you go clubbing :D

Sad but true, Audioslave are so lame. You can’t really compare them to either Soundgarden or RATM, ‘coz they seem to lack all the energy and creativity both bands had. In some songs you get a glimpse of the power of RATM, but mostly they sound more like Chris Cornell’s solo album which was also a disappointment to me.

I was a massive Soundgarden fan, never really ‘got’ Rage - too political for my liking, which had a detrimental effect on the music after the initial impact of their debut album. I thought they were running out of ideas fast, and Zach realised this and jumped ship.

I can only be honest, and say I was not overly impressed with Audioslave, until last Wednesday night when I saw them play in Dublin. They were great, there was something special going on.

Until you see them live, I doubt you’ll be converted. But when you see them live, you’ll realise that they do have ‘something’. Chris Cornell himself, who looked bored beyond belief when I saw Soundgarden live in 1995, looked like he was having the best time of his life :) Tom and Tim never stopped moving and smiling all night either.

I was really impressed with them last Wednesday.

I didn’t really know where else to put this, but if anyone has the video of Audioslave’s performance at Rock Am Ring a couple of weeks ago (from WDR TV), and would like to trade it with me, could you get in touch?

Cheers! :)

Title: whee

i don’t have the disc, but heard the first
two singles.. and really like ‘em. i liked
soundgarden alright, and RATM.. sometimes.
too much screaming and soapboxing for my
tastes. i read a review that said that
RATM always wanted a singer that could sing
and Chris Cornell always wanted a band that
could play.. and i think this shows it’s true..

definately got more respect for the band
portion of RATM since audioslave..
