Wasn’t that what Harry Hill said when he was David Dickenson? “I’m David Dickenson, I’m the HUNTER!” He described it as Lovejoy on acid :p

isn´t the women you taling about only in one song? i thought she would be just for this song cause it says “featuring” in the video …

and in the video she´s quite hot :)
reminds me of drusilla from “buffy the vampire slayer”

Dunno, she’s on the album cover, and when she was on CD:UK she was wearing a tight leather outfit and……errrr excuse me!

Well, you’re right in a sense. Some female singers certainly get more attention than the other members of the band and yes, sometimes it’s undeserved.I think it has a lot to do with the fact that there are more male fans in the audience (except for bands like Bon Jovi,Def Leppard…etc),thus while having respect for the rest of the band people are more likely to focus on a pretty/sexy frontwoman.

As far as Ozzy is concerned,I honestly think he was fair to most of his bandmates. He introduced Randy Rhoads (RIP) to the masses as he did with Zakk Wylde,Robert Trujillo,Randy Castillo (RIP) and Mike Inez. These musicians joined some of the greatest bands after becoming well-known in Ozzy’s band.

PLEASE DUDE DONT GET ME WRONG I PERSONALLY THINK THAT OZZY IS AN AUSOME MUSCIAN THE ONLY REASON I REFFERED TO HIM ON THIS THREAD WAS THAT I SOMETIMES FEEL THAT DUE TO OZZYS LIFE LONG SUCCSESS IN MUSIC AND DUE TO THE OSBOURNES MTV SHOW THAT THE REST OF THE BAND ARE SOMEWHAT SHADOWED BY HIM. NOT THAT HE TRIES TO SHADOW THEM ITS JUST THAT SOME PEOPLE DONT TEND TO KNOW OF HIS BAND BUT JUST MENTION OZZY.

Evanescence woman? She’s in the band full time, apparently the bloke only really sings on this one single and otherwise it’s all her :)

Yeah, the single is very misrepresentative of the whole album… the album is pretty good, but it’s not what the single would have you believe.

Well, I have to confess I bid on a copy on eBay last night, will let you know my thoughts if I win! The only other track I’ve heard is the first one on the album but I liked that too.

it’s the same with garbage. i’m not a huge garbage fan, nothing against them but a lot of the limelight was on shirley manson. admittedly when you have butch vig in your band it’s gonna get noticed. the other two guys kind of miss out a bit. but they probably like that anyway.

xxx

i assume garbage do still exist… i only use “was” in the past tense as i haven’t heard anything by them for years.

same with the early sneaker pimps and kelli ali

they two go on with chris on lead vocals … don´t like their stuff without the lovely female voice of kelli ali (kelly dayton)

its just … some bands have to do it with female voices … some others with male voices … it sounds strange when you do it not in the way the music feels itself

Weren’t the other 2 reasonably successful producers as well, before they formed Garbage? Am not sure (really not that bothered about who produced what), but think I read that somewhere when they first started (i.e. when they were ‘The Butch Vig Band’, before they became ‘The Shirley Manson Band’

I know that that was Butch’s jobby, but I’m sure Steve and Duke or whatever they’re called were also producers.

Oops. Apologies, I misread your post. That’ll teach me to try and be sarcastic :p

Apology accepted… am not 100% sure that what I’m saying is right though, but think I remember NME touting them as a ‘producer superband’ when they first started.

ok, what i found out for myself about female vocalist is, that most have a terrible high voice which is damn hurting…well, most times it sounds more like just screaming then singing…it’s like they have no reall “singing voice” it’s just a very awfull noise, making the ears bleeding…i know some men cannot sing too, but there you don’t realize it that easily i think

but of course there are also some female vocalists who are really able to sing and then it sound most times good…but of course i don’t get any example right now…

Yeah, that’s also true to a degree.Obviously the media likes to focus on the mighty Oz alone because he is the Madman after all.My personal opinion is that people who pay attention to Ozzy just because they watch the Osbournes don’t even care about his muscic or bandmates :(,they don’t even know that a piece of rock history is on their screen every time the show starts…
