Changes to the boards since High Anxiety?

#

Started by Billy Blue

Has anyone else noticed how, since the new infux of WOM board members from the High Anxiety sales, the messages boards have turned mostly to shit?

Theres even bollocks threads about losing your virginity and getting old and buying slippers!

Isn’t there a rule of message boards about keeping to the original subject?

Starting to find the boards boring which is really shit because there used to be some really cool discussions!

Or maybe I’m just being paranoid…

What are you, some kind of fascist? Personally I find it hilarious when a thread spins off an a mad tangent…

Oh and it was me who was going on about buying slippers, heh heh :p

Maybe you should start threads with a “No digressions” clause ;)

A clue: the keyboardist of the band who wrote the song was recently discussed in great detail by myself and the good Sir Tatty Seaside :p

This is gonna piss Billy Blue off no end, heh heh :)

You know Therapy?, the band, they do music.

Sorry, couldn’t resist that! And hey I’m not a facsist! I agree it is cool when a thread goes of on a bit of a tangent but I just thought some stuff was just boring.

Don’t hate me!

don’t mean to offend the new members but i think that the boards lack in quality lately. maybe it’s the fact that there are too many people in here now, maybe that there are a lot of old people, maybe sth else.
thing is, i do not visit these boards every day like i used to…

The only problem I have is the amount of new messages every day… I actually have a busy job (unlike some others on this board it seems :p) so I can not read posts during the day, only in the evening when I’m home… and every day there are at least 200 new posts waiting (not to mention when I’m out for a weekend or so)… which is quite terrible to start reading :(

Yeah I’ll hold my hands up to that, but I am moving to Portsmouth in September if that improves your already quite bad impression of me!

Well, we have a whole forum called ‘chit-chat’ for such things, maybe you should just stick to the threads in the T? section of the WoM?

I realise the topics do tend to drift sometimes but normally that’s just due to the natural flow of a conversation. I do split threads that seem to need it but usually I think it’s alright.

are you one of those people who doesn’t like a band when said band gets really popular?

(just a question, nothing flamey)

No - although it’s a shame not to be hearing stories about Blonde Blade’s ubderwear vrey often.

Billy Blue wrote:

We did talk drivel a lot of the time before though. The recent poo topics were, admittedly, scraping the bottom of the barrel somewhat.

Billy Blue wrote:

Rules are there for breaking - or at least for trying the community leader’s patience :)

Billy Blue wrote:

We still can - start a thread on whatever serious topic you want, and only respond to the “serious” replies…

Don’t think you can blame things on the many of the new members - a lot of whom seem quite meek, and are probably wary of being flamed (I was) - one individual in particular seems to have gone quite quiet since his somewhat narrow-minded comments elsewhere were dissed.

Be proactive! If you want intelligent posts on serious topics, add some more yourself.

Admittedly the daily trawl is a bit of a bind, but 200 posts is better than none…

I rest my case…

Although I’ve only just realised my own irony of talking about the boards in the section dedicated to Therapy? talk. Hence this thread suddenly appearing in a different section. My bad!

Dear Citizen

In summer my room is hotter than the sun, but I’m too tight to buy a fan. Every day I come home, break out into a hot sweat and think “What can I do to cool my room down?”.

Please help,

Ahh, yes, now the Romans and Egyptians had the same problem (after all, whoever heard of air-con in a pyramid?). You need to get yourself some slaves - and a couple of large palm leaves. You can also use the slaves to dine off.

Dear Citizen,

I don’t like having to read 200 new posts on Therapy’s message board everyday. Where and to whom shall I complain? I was thinking of doing so in said message board, but hence my dilema - the replies gathered by posting such a complaint will surely only lead to an increased amount of posts. Should I withhold my complaint until the traffic on the message board becomes less busy, therefore resulting in less replies, or should I strike now ‘while the iron’s hot’ as such? Guffaw, guffaw, guffaw!

Yours sincerely,

Anonymous

A relatively straight forward solution - try a band with a less active messageborad - Wilt for example ;). Alternatively, ignore all the threads with dull sounding titles. Take control of your life.

And remember, hot irons can be dangerous. Joking around is fun, but please be careful and play safely at all times.
