Well I can say it, but that wouldn’t necessarily make it true! I don’t know if it’ll be available other than an R2 release - I’ll let you know if I hear anything though :)

A lot of the times you can get a hack for different zones and stuff like that off the net. The DVD player I bought from a shop actually hand the hack printed on a sticker stuck to the box.

Found this little website for some of the hacks for some machines (useful for people in the UK only I think).

Most machines have some combination of buttons that you can press to make them multi region. I believe the rules have now changed (at least in the UK) and all new DVD players must be multi-region. Still to research that bit, but if it is true then it should mean that you can go to your DVD manufacturer and ask them how to make your dvd player multi region (reason - all machines are built multi-region and then programmed after manufacture, so your manufacturer ought to know how to revert to multi-region).

There’s also kit you can buy to convert from NTSC to PAL and vice versa.

Cool interview, thanks BK!

Looks like there’ll be a 2 hour documentary on the DVD - hmmm, I’m not holding my breath! It would be great though :)

Heh heh, this is the bliss of living with someone who works on the internet - their boss foots the bill :D

@Smurftastic: True enough regarding DVD players, but TVs also differ in other countries meaning that sometimes you can only get the picture in black and white, if at all. I think newer TVs have something to sort that though.

yeah, heard it too! great title for a dvd i think! :)

(and for the ppl that still don’t understand: scopophobia is the fear of being seen/looked/stared at - don’t worry, had to look it up as well)

Stubru is short for Studio Brussel(s), which is a Belgian radio station. It’s where Therapy? did a show in April for which you could only get tickets by entering a competition.

What’s in a name? That which we call a rose
by any other name would smell as sweet.

I think “scopophobia” is a cool name. Besides, most people who see it in the shops won’t have a clue what it means anyway.

I’ve always hated the title “Suicide Pact - You First”. It just reminds me of totally pretentious 80’s cock rock. It conjures images of awful “we’re hard!” rock posturing, fists clenched, angry growls, leather trousers, bad perms etc… :D

Well Scopophobia is a Greek word…

And as I am Greek I can tell you what it means…

Well sort of anyway as it is not a widely used word…

It is sum of two words…

Skopos and Phobia …

Skopos = Target
Phobia = Fear

So I guess the boyz mean Fear of being targeted …

You can then expand this to Fear of being seen, stared etc…

So there you have it …

And the Greek way to write this is :

Upper case: ÓÊÏÐÏÖÏÂÅÉÁ
Lower case : óêïðïöïâåéá

(If you can’t see this change you IE characters to Greek to see it properly) ;)

Would be cool to see some Greek charcters on the actual DVD title ;)

Maybe it’s a refference to being targeted by piss bombs at festivals!
