Back catalogue stuff is always dearer, it’s how big companies work it, they put stuff out cheaper when it’s new and make up for the losses by setting out a more expensive level for the back cat ranges.

What’s the exchange rate? I only paid $12.99 (about $13.48 after tax), and even if I got it after it had come out, it would have only cost $15.99 here in the states.

Sorry I don’t know your monetary symbols. I’m kinda ignorant in that respect.

I think $15.99 would be roughly about £10? I went on holiday to New York a couple of years ago and couldn’t believe how cheap the CDs were in comparison to the UK - came back with a very heavy suitcase!

I think CDs are getting a bit pricier in the states - I remember when the exchange rate was a bit better I got ‘Superunknown’ for $14, which at the time was about £8 or something! But then when I went 2 years ago, a lot of the non-chart stuff was $18.99, which at that exchange rate probably wasn’t all that different. Still bought loads though! :D

I got mine for £11.99 +p&p off Amazon.

Yeah, the prices have gone up a bit, especially at the mega superstore types, but still sounds like it’s a bit cheaper here.

However, you guys get all the cool imports with extra stuff that would cost us double here. I’ve seen some imports go for $30+.

Ah well, so goes the collector life. Too expensive for me personally.

You think they’re bad? I saw the chemical brothers’ “dig your own hole” in WH Smiths for £17.99! The way cd prices are rising in this country is fucking ridiculous.
