What sort of venue are The Thrills playing?

i’ve never really understood why certain venues have strictly over 18 for gigs. it doesn’t make any sense really. if they are worried about serving underage drinkers then just ID them at the bar. it’s all a bit nonsensical for my liking. luckily living in cambridge all our gig venues are pretty much all ages anyway so i never really had any trouble. i do remember going to oxford before to see mansun at the zodiac and i got ID’d on the door and even though i wasn’t 18 they still let me in. lucky me! it does seem rediculous that some gigs must be over 18. it’s the tour promoters fault though more than the band so you shouldn’t hate the thrills personally for it. well you should because they’re shit but not because of the gig restriction. :)

If only..oh, if only! Alas I have this horrible feeling that the NME ( aka “the comic” ) has decided that these lot are going to be promoted for some time..to which I re-iterate the fact that they’re shit and call for a Thrills boycott right now!

was viz the one with the man who collects eyeballs in it? my cousin brought a handfull of comics over here when i was about 12, and shortly after that, all my school books were covered with that ugly face (the one from the comic, not the one from my cousin).

Its got people like Buster Gonads and Sid The Sexist and the brilliant Profanisaurus. My mate is in the process of memorising it!

With the heat wave right now I think every male person in Europe has two boiled eggs. But why don’t you drink the whiskey instead of putting it before your bed?

Dortmund, too. It’s only sweat dripping down your legs, but it looks like you pissed yourself (hey, isn’t this perfectly on topic? :)).

i’m guessin that since you’re from cork you’ve been to one of those awful all age gigs in the half moon??? they are the reason im grateful that a lot of gigs are 18+

absolutely chronic mostly…lots of local bands get together do them in cork…i suppose its cos most big bands just play in dublin and when any half decent bands play in cork its in clubs, pubs etc…so younger people can’t go…the all age gigs are on during the day so all the kiddies can be tucked up in bed nice’n early…its a good way for local bands to build up a following…
