Leeds 2003

#

Started by White Psycho

Just got back and it was so fucking great, I didn’t see many bands but most of the ones I saw were so fucking great, it was fantastic!

I saw:-

System Of A Down
Metallica (1/2 hour, then got bored and left)
Good Charlotte (10 seconds)
Radio 4 (owe Good Charlotte for this one, they were so great!!)
80’s Matchbox B-Line Disaster
Electric Six
Evan Dando
Staind (I was waiting for The Darkness)
The Darkness
The Used (don’t know why I saw them)
Hell Is For Heroes
Turbonegro
Sum 41 (got dragged by friends)
Beck
All American Rejects

I’m not a fan of songs that go on forever, I thought Master of Puppets was 2 songs!

Electric Six were great! I seemed to be the only one out of my friends to think that though  But they did a cover of Radio GaGa!!

The Darkness were fantastic, note perfect as well! Hell Is For Heroes were ok, I didn’t know anything about them but if you like their stuff then I reckon you’ll enjoy them, I just couldn’t get into them.

The Darkness were amazing at Reading too… very cool indeed. Best line… “give me a D! (everyone: “D!” give me an ARKNESS!”… :)

Staind was interesting at Reading. Guitar troubles after one song, so Aaaaaron played Black by Pearl Jam acoustic, which was, it has to be said, fantastic. Then they did a few more acoustic songs as a group, after he did Outside by himself. And a bit of moaning about equipment arriving 45 mins before they were due on. And a bit more moaning about out of tune guitars. I like Staind’s albums, but their stage presence is a little lacking.

Staind were crap, their songs fall into 2 catagories as far as I could tell from when I saw them; no acoustic and they all sound the same, and acoustic and sound the same

Is it true that metallica pulled out of reading? Festivals are bitches for false rumours! Someone on the last night was walking round saying Cilla Black was dead!

Nope, Metallica were there.

Staind, well, I like some of their songs, and anyhow, the highlight was the acoustic cover of Black.

You lasted half an hour? I saw them at one of the Leeds festivals (or possibly a V—-) & gave up before the first song had finished. They sure know how to drag them out

Yeah but overall the festival was great! I met a cool lass, and I had my mates telling me to try my luck, but I’m too much of a chickenshit! It just isn’t fair, I meet a lass I like and in just over 2 weeks I’m moving to Bradford!
