I think the US version is out already. There’s one up for grabs on ebay, and it’s the first one (either Reg1 or Reg2) that I’ve seen there:

Ok… So I emailed them one last time asking if they are NEVER releasing it or just not releasing it yet and the response was,

“Our company is not doing a Therapy DVD at all now, but there’s no reason why the band might not do one in the future through different channels.”

For those of you that have the DVD was it released by Eagle Rock? I don’t understand why they would release it in the UK but not in the US. Oh yea I forgot… THEY ARE BASTARDS!!! I HOPE THAT T? GOES TO THE EAGLE ROCK OFFICES AND SHITS IN THEIR YEARNALS AND PISSES IN THEIR SINKS!

Are you annoyed because your name is really Dave?

Why would you think my name is Dave? David is acctually my middle name though. My first name has always been Alan. I’m just mad at record companies in general though, they all suck. They always screw bands over.

I think the joke was that you were mad cause they got your name wrong, not about the DVD ;) British humour, what can you do?

You lost me on the iron thing though but I guess that’s Star Wars, Citizen?

Shame about the DVD. It seems (or so say the bnlmusic.com boards) that the US has a harder time converting their DVD players to be multi region but I still haven’t figured out why.

Here’s my geekdom showing through… after the Clone wars, they stopped production of clones and the Stormtroopers were actually everyday people who signed up for the academy. So by “A New Hope” TK421 wasn’t a clone of Jango Fett. Yes, I know, I’m a Star Wars geek.

As for the vid not being released in the U.S., I have to admit I’m disappointed as well. Not that I’m saying that you fine fellas and gals over seas don’t deserve to get this fine video, but it is disappointing seeing as I myself have seen a whole 2 Therapy? videos, both releases on a seperate cd. Not to mention that from what I’ve gathered you guys could see them play at festivals ever year, wheras we get a notice that they’ll be playing at a pub in 6 or 7 locations in the States, and I myself have trouble justifying going 2 hours and possibly getting lost to see a concert, even if it is Therapy?.

So yes, after getting our hopes up these last few months, telling us that it should be released here, expect a few upset people. Perhaps TK421 is overreacting a tad, as it’s not the end of the world, but to be honest I feel like swearing as well (been saving up the last few weeks for the DVD).

Title: hmmm that’s funny

this whole business about no DVD being released in the U.S., I mean.

I just received an email from amazon.com claiming that they just shipped my region 1 encoded copy of Scopophobia.

However, the label website still lacks any info regarding a U.S. release of the DVD. I’m not sure who’s wrong here, amazon, or Eagle. I’ll post again if it shows up.

I’ve had pretty good luck with Amazon.com. Then again, they could be very mistaken about having the DVD. So far, it looks like they are still selling it, but if I receive an educational DVD about treating stage fright, I guess we’ll know for sure.

It’s been my experience with Spitfire/EagleVision/EagleRock family that the second something goes out of print, they have it listed as unavailable. Some sort of quirk in their computer system, I’m guessing. Ask (politely!) a second time if they have any copies in stock and maybe one will turn up. :)

Are you really surprised? I’m still hoping that the DVD will be released in North America (Canada, hint), but I don’t expect it to. We always get screwed over. We can barely buy the CDs… don’t expect DVDs.

As for your comment on T? getting mad at Eagle Rock because bands always get screwed over… I’d have to disagree. It seems to me that you’re getting screwed over, and me as well, but definitely not the band.

Amazon.co.uk has Scopophobia for 14.39 GBP. Delivery rates for North America are 0.99 GBP per DVD and 2.09 GBP per delivery which makes a total of 17.47 GBP.
Not quite 40 bucks, is it?

Dear US T? fans.
Why not order the DVD from Play.com?

http://www.play.com/play247.asp?page=title&r=R2M&title=12 … =&g=25

The price is just £13.99 (USD $23.44) incl. shipping (free shipping worldwide)

This is the region 2 version, but I guess you guys can play PAL videos as well.

I guess I’m bitter enough to just say screw it. I still listen to the records, but I’m not going to 1. go to a bank and convert money into euro’s and 2. get the dvd and find someone in the area who will convert the thing into a code I can use in my dvd player. Call me lazy, call me jaded, doesn’t matter at this point. For the most part, you can call me disappointed.
