Kill Bill Vol.1

#

Started by donVutz

what a briliant movie. i have never seen so many people leave during a movie and so many disapoint faces next to big diabolic grins after the end.
that little “break dance” by uma was one of the best scenes i ever witnessed.:D

The movie is awesome! I went and saw it twice (a rarity). Anyone who hasn’t seen better have a good reason for not seeing it! Just can’t wait for Kill Bill 2.

Not a big QT fan, but I did quite like this, and am looking forward to seeing part II. Bit dark to call entertainment though (IMHO:D), and a bit gratuitous - was it really necessary to see Lucy Liu’s brains?, but overall worth seeing.

Yes, in so few words! A homage to all the Karate action flicks! I especially loved the intro in the beginning, before the movie even started… my friend and I chuckled through it.

It was excellent! I loved it! Very good entertainment value! Who cares if the plot could have been summerized in 15minutes (or less), I prefer 4 hours(assuming that vol.2 is similar to vol.1) of massacre anyday! I have a theory that kung fu films are a bit like porn - any plot they might have is there only to get to the ‘action’…which might somehow explain why I’m obsessed with Bruce Lee-films.

i didn’t like the porns with bruce lee, but that might be a thing of diferent tastes.
my grilfriend and sister thought that the movie was absolutly discusting because of the violence(and forced me to see good bye lenin! yuk!) and they only laughed about the spanking while i almost laughed my head off during the whole movie. definatly a must-see.

Until I’ve seen part two I’ll try to be subtle about it, but this is, so far, Tarantino’s worst I’ve seen (including all the movies he just wrote the script for). But if your saying you would like to watch a massacre any day, you’re probably also the type of person that thinks Vin Diesel should have played Bill. (No pun intended).

The great thing about Tarantino was, next to the style and cool of course, his original stories (especially Jackie Brown and Pulp Fiction).

I must admit that the opening titles (Bang Bang My Baby Shot Me down) were his coolest and best yet.

I really like the soundtrack of that film :-)
Especially the chinese girl rock n roll band (The 5 6 7 8´s)!
The film itself is entertaining, but not as good as other Tarantino-movies like “Reservoir Dogs” or the mighty “Pulp fiction”.

A good movie, but “Reservoir Dogs” and “Pulp Fiction” are still better. I’d say “Kill Bill Vol. 1” is on par with “Jackie Brown”. It mostly consists of fight scenes, which is cool in a way, but then again, it’s kinda boring, too (and I’m really fed up with martial arts by now!).

great movie! saw it yesterday, and must say: a true classic that can easily be put next to “reservoir dogs”, “pulp fiction” and “jackie brown”.

I thought the fight scenes in Kill Bill were way better than the ones in the Matrix films and they were done for a fraction of the price.

Even if the original book was called Cooking Soup For Dummies… That wouldn’t change the quality of the story dude…

Kill Bill reminded me of a videogame:
Intro
First enemy
Transportation
Second Enemy

I loved it, my favourite movie of the year. The first time i saw it i wasn’t entirely convinced (i think i’d been expecting more gore since everyone was making such a fuss), but the second time around it was damn near perfect. I loved it. The anime bit in the middle was brilliant.

Apart from the ‘head-in-the-door’ moment, the only bit i really cringed at was the feet-chopping… please, please stop with the feet!! But most of the time me and my friend were the only ones laughing in the cinema… always a good thing. :D

I’m trying very hard not to lose underwear at the moment, but if i get a chance i will throw a thong at the band. Not necessarily mine, but you can’t have everything. :p

Hardly suprising. Cinema’s the older artform and videogames are based on a narrative pioneered by it.

Pretentiousness over. Kill Bill was great - a laugh a minute splatterfeast. Low point was the anime (and the fact that uma was allowed to take her samurai sword on a plane as hand luggage)

Looking forward to Vol 2…

Ah. I actually liked that. I thought it was a cute touch - the airplane seats are equiped with storage spaces for your swords (and the motorbikes have them as well, how convenient!), because the ‘Kill Bill’ world is obviously utterly different to the real world (where are the police? why did no-one at the hospital notice Buck was missing? didn’t they think to search his car?). I thought that was all part of the fun - it’s like a comicbook world rather than a real one.

Or that’s my opinion, at least. :D I can see why it would annoy other people though.
