Batman

This is probably old news now but Christian Bale is going to be the new Batman,i think this is a good choice.I saw him in American Psycho and Equilibruim and i thought he was good even though both films weren’t great.I really hope they go back to the darker style of the first two films.

I heard that Darren Aronofsky (Requiem for a Dream, Pi) is directing, so it should be worth going to for that alone.

it is darren aronofsky, and the story takes place when batman becomes batman, i.e. when he parents get murdered…

and i’m sure aronofsky will suffer the same fate as nolan… 2 great independant movies that they wrote, followed by a sub-par big budget hollywood movie written by someone else…

Yeah the 60’s TV series that was Adam West and Burt Ward.

I don’t know if this has been confirmed but i read Chris Nolan is directing the new Batman film which could be very interesting.I don’t think Darren Aronofsky is attached to the project anymore.

I think Bale will be a much better Batman than Val Kilmer and George Clooney.Micheal Keaten is the best Batman so far.

ok, here’s the story… batman 5 will be directed by nolan… batman: year one (the one i was talking about) is the one with aronofsky, but the rumor is that Warner Bros. didn’t like the direction aronofsky and frank miller were taking the script, so they pulled the plug…

there is also a batman vs. superman movie being planned…

A script by Miller and Aronofsky would probably be considered too dark by Warners which is a shame.
That Batman VS Superman has been rumoured for a while but i can’t see it ever being made,Warners have been trying for ages to get a Superman movie out and its been locked in development hell.I think at one stage Tim Burton was attached to direct with Nic Cage as Superman.

The rumour I heard about Batman V Superman was that it was going to be the superman movie, with batman in it. However, Tim Burton wanted Michael Keaton as Batman but George Clooney was under contract with Warner. So that was the end of that!

So, who’s seen it?

I just got back and man, I thought it was awesome - I was totally giddy all the way home. First bit where he’s doing all the training and the flashbacks are a bit cheezycore but once he becomes Batman…fookin’ hell!

Go see Batman Begins - say it really fast 8 times. Nobody in the pub could, but we’re a bunch of pissheads.

I really hope they don’t do Batman/Superman. I think they got it just right with this one and it needs to continue. Preferably with more nudey Christian Bale.

In the original Batman, did the Joker kill Batman’s parents?

Joker did kill Wayne’s parents in Tim Burton’s version, but that was made up to tie Joker into it all a bit more cleanly.

A weird coincidence but I just got back from seeing Batman Begins too and it was great. Loved the modern but gothic feel of the city, and I now want a cinema’s sound system!

I thought the ‘we’re waiting for back-up’ cop was LL Cool J but the IMDB is denying me - what’s he from, then cause I recognised him.

edit: Ronan Leahy - never heard of him. But he looks really like LL Cool J…
