Martin is here

Hello all. Martin T? here! Thanks to all of you that have sent get well wishes via the message board - your detective work is very impressive and the diagnosis is correct I do have a perforated ear drum which is stopping me from performing. At the moment,I have to wait until the doctors give me the ‘all clear’ before I can return to the tour - going back any earlier could cause permanent damage, but I’m determined I’ll be back, and soon! This tour has been the best - I’ve loved every moment, and believe me it was a really tough decision to decide to leave and head for home, but I’m anxious to get better and the best way to do that is to rest and stay away from loud music. In the meantime I know that Andy, Neil and Michael will be keeping my side of the stage warm until I return. Until then rockers - even though you can’t see me ’ I’m there in spirit all the way - Get Drunk -Head Bang! Martin

Get well soon man! Cheers for clarifying the info in the other thread!

(now let’s hope this isn’t some hoax, but I don’t think it is)

you weren’t involved in a “bizarre gardening accident” then?

The lads are doing a great job in continuing the tour, but Rock City and Wolverhampton gigs sounded weird with only one guitarist. Just like the old days.

Get well soon,

Nick.

Hi Martin

Get well soon, we hope you’ll be back on stage soon, but in the mean time, why don’t you start writing some tracks for a new album? ;)

Title: missed

As good as the other guys sound on their own. it just doesnt sound the same without martin. the sound that the four of them produce together is something that mainstream bands like mettalica have failed to produce on their last album. but guess who gets all the recognition.

I was at Wolves last night and some of us shouted out, “Where’s Martin?!!”. Michael shouted back, “Martin’s had a bizarre gardening accident.” My mate turns to me and says, “There’s been a bust up. Michael’s got a bandage on his right arm. They’ve had a fight”. “No way,” I say.

Hope your ear gets better soon Martin. Missed you up there last night.

those two gentlemen are so lovely, it seems rather more likely they were involved in a bizarre gardening accident together. which the less we know about, the better, probably… ;)

but seriously: get well soon, martin!

Oh yeah, as for some unknown reason my g/f & I always end up in front of Michael - you 2 should move around more, it’s good to see you both!

Does this mean that you’re going to be active on the boards for the next few days

Take it easy & hope to see you at another gig next year.

Hey Martin you rock! Sorry, couldn’t resist;) And while you’re out of action, rent Rules Of Attraction. Don’t you think you look like a skinner version of the guy that plays Victor? I didn’t really think so until I watched Scopophobia…

Title: Gardening Accidents????

OK… now you guys are killing me with sympathy! Seriously - your messages are really appreciated and it’s good to feel some contact with you all even though I’m not able to be at the shows. I’ve spent the last three nights reading and watching TV and being quiet:( when what I really want to do is strap on the flying V and rock with the rest of you.

So.. Bizarre Gardening Accidents Huh! I think Michaels imagination is possibly more fertile than most gardens, and the suggestion that we might do the gardening ‘together’ is quite frightening. Sitting in the garden ‘drinking’ together - now that is a definite possibility, you’ll find us doing that in the summer, but you won’t find us sharing the same lawnmower or picking tulips. But hey… let your imaginations run wild…

Much respect to you all - Martin

So what have you been reading and what have you been watching? Seriously - am off on hols at weekend, and would appreciate some ideas for paperbacks to take with me.

How did you injure your ear in the first place, and how’s the healing going?

well, i’m wondering if it’s not a real strange feeling and like falling into a deep hole, when you are on tour rocking like hell and then all of the sudden you are “forced to relax” and take some steps back?

but i hope you can enjoy your time somehow and your wife takes good care of you
