alternative to marshall amps?

#

Started by zero nero

Just looking for suggestions regarding amps.
I dont want to get a marshall, i’ve tried quite a few other amps, anyone suggest anything, i play peavey at the moment but would not buy another one (poor build quality). anyone tried HI-WATT? or top end laney amps?

might just end up going for an amp simulator…

hmmm, still not sure, i recorded with one a few years back, wasnt happy, maybe the newer ones with the metal armour on them, pretty cool looking,

i suppose i’m looking for something a little rarer, a but different.

Well for me as a bassman i like to play trace elliot … but i donĀ“t know if they have guitar amps too?

Mesa Boogie has a lot of deep and blues sound … but really powerfull … i like that!
My guitarman plays alot of hard music and he likes it very much!

I had a Peavey Bandit and now own a JCM 900. I think that Peavey piss on Marshall for build quality and sound to. I’d suggest a Peavey.

saw the amp i want, well 2 of them.

line 6 hd 147 with the 4x12 cab, a monster but really expensive, cheaper alternative is the h&k warp 7 head and cab, very nu-metalish but unbelievable bottom end.

Well as a bassist, I play an old Sunn I bought from a used shop. Plays beautiful, and loud! Plus it is at least 20 years old and still works perfectly. Which should say something for its durability. I am not sure if they are easy there to get. I live about an hour from where they used to be based so it might make it a lot easier.

line 6 is worth the money if you use the amp effects, if not…
have you ever thought about a crate? crate amps are very thogh and they’re not so expensive, they’ve got a great distortion.
