Check out ticketweb…they still have tickets. According to them, it’s an XFM Rock Show gig, with Amplifier in support again.

Title: Barfly gig

Guys… thanks a fucking million for posting the info re the barfly gig… would have been gutted to miss it! Especially after the great Astoria gig.

Tickets are still available on Ticketweb…

One thing I am not sure of is why they are playing the Barfly, as whenever ever I have been there, the gig has been in a room with a capacity of about 100-150 people max. Is there a bigger section to the Barfly?? Or is this going to be some kind of acoustic gig for radio???

By the way, I first saw T? at the SFX centre in Dublin in 94 (maybe 95?) and I still think they now sound amazing…

Not a problem mate, glad to be of assistance. :) Yep, Barfly Sessions at the Monarch. It’s opposite Camden Market. The room is upstairs and is bloody tiny, it is 100 capacity was curious and just checked it out. Should be a ‘normal’, plugged in set, not specifically for radio, esp. as there is support. I have seen a few ‘big’ bands play there. Ah man, its gonna be way cool!! We should all meet up in the pub part before the gig! :D

Lucky buggers…

still, I suspect it’s as a result of T? going “wrong” that you get to see them in such an ‘intimate’ venue (see other thread). I guess it’ll be similar in Leeds?

Title: What a night

I gotta Say…

After a long wait for Therapy to get onstage at the Barfly
They came on.. with a damn Powerful set.

I have been seeing Therapy for about 6-7 years now, and i would say that was the best lineup of songs they have ever done.

Spot on guys.. it truly was one hell of a rocking night!
Hearing everyone screaming to Stop The Your Killing Me was certainly awseome.

As soon as i heard the Gig was gonna be at the Barfly i knew it was gonna be such an atmosphere… and i would say overall it proved more atmospheric than the Astoria gig a few weeks back.

Keep on rockin T? every gig u do seems to get better and better.

Bugger me, that gig was the most insane ever, it was an honour to be able to stand that close to the boys, to hear that many classics both old and new and to be there in that moment…if you look at your hand this morning and still see ink saying BARFLY, you should have tried harder…thankyouverymuch!

Hey guys first I just want to say thanks for the gig last night. Fan-(fucking)-tastic as usual.

More to the point can anyone tell me if Dave is alright? The guy was talking about having a cracked rib by the end of the concert.

See that? Thanks and concern - although I figure it should really be the other way round. Here comes the guilt trip…

Have to agree… it was brillant… I have a hive of bees in my ears, and my ankle is fucked… but brillant none the less!

Was there any difference in the setlist from the Astoria gig a few ago? I don’t remember any, apart from the fact ‘Rob’ sang Knives as Andy couldn’t be bothered…

It is pretty cool as well to see Andy and Micheal in the Camden Lock beforehand having a beer, and afterwards downstairs in the Barfly…

Was talking to someone up the front last night and he said it was his fifth T? gig this year… jammy git…

Title: Gigs

It was my 3rd T? gig this year… and they just keep gettin better and better.

Its the little differences that make the songs so wicked… Andy singing it in a different way… or Playing it differently on guitar.

Was a fantastic night tho… as soon as i got in.. jumped in the shower and scrubbed a few layers of skin off of the hand.. the barfly sign has nearly gone now.. looks like a big bruise now!

Over the past few years.. i have noticed that a lot more Ladies have been showing up for the shows.. which is also a bonus.. in between warm up act’s and T? you have something to look at.

hehehehehe

Word to ya mutha!

Last night was amazing. Being so close to the band was brilliant, the set was fantastic…and I had the pleasure of submitting you all to me wailings.

I’ve been a fan of Therapy? for around ten years. I first saw them in 1994 when they played Exeter University. And to be singing along whilst they played Knives lookong genuinely impressed was an awesome experience I’ll never forget.

A truely memorable gig for me - hope I didn’t sound too awful!

Nice one Rob… Knives sounded _really_ good I thought… very nice indeed.

Apart from Skyward, which they played pretty slow, practically every song was much, much quicker than they usually play live. I mean, look at Rust, that was just insane. I wonder if Neil and Michael had some sort of bet to see how fast they could go. Not bad given they played some 21 songs in about 1hr15, was it?

I wonder how the gig will sound when broadcast on XFM (any ideas when?). Yes, the songs were very very quick, but, to be fair, this did mean they fell apart every now and then! So it will be interesting to hear.

What was the snippet of song they played in the middle of Isolation?

Best lyric: “Michael McKeegan is Tobasco fist-fucking my sister!”

Wonder why the band hate the Shameless album so much?! ;) (don’t mean to start another set list flame, but hey…!)

Shame not to see Martin on stage (along with his gear…) Would have made Amplifier’s singer’s comments about it being a world record attempt for the most amount of equipment on the smallest stage even more appropriate!

Is that good…or is it bad??? Actually, it would be great to have a reminder of an amazing evening. I’ll keep my ears/eyes open for that one.

But I don’t know about anyone else, but I always find that these smaller gigs are so much better than a larger gig. The bands always seem to enjoy them more too. The lads last night did, anyway. A great way for them to end 2003.

Rob - still buzzing from last night (as are my ears)
