Rare T-Shirts…(and signed LP’S?)

Hello
Firstly, sorry my first post here is to try and flog something! I have to admit I haven’t been paying that much attention to Therapy? since the Nurse days (I’m mainly a Babyteeth and Pleasure Death man!), and I only discovered the existence of this place today.

Anyway, I have two very cool Therapy? t-shirts I am selling. They’re on eBay at the moment. If I’d known of this place I would have advertised them here first, but what can you do. They are both official shirts, bought at Therapy? gigs, and not shabby bootleg pieces of crap!

The first shirt was bought at a small gig in Dublin, very shortly after the release of Pleasure Death, so some time around ‘92-ish I reckon. It is a white short-sleeved shirt. The front has a a big red print of an old mans face (somebody told me who it was a long time ago, but I’ve forgotten now), with the Therapy? logo in black above. The back print is the quote “Your friend, your teacher, the guy next door”. The prints on the shirt are absolutely amazing quality, and have not aged a bit. The shirt material is very high quality too. Although I haven’t worn the shirt in probably 8 years or something, it hasn’t stretched or faded or anything. Size is XL, but it’s not a huge XL, and not baggy or wide, so it would do for an L wearer too.
The only place I EVER saw this shirt was at that gig!

The second shirt is a longsleeved grey number. Again, I bought it at a gig either shortly before or after Nurse came out I think. The front has a red Therapy? logo, and underneath a picture of the Stars & Stripes (US Flag for non-Americans!) with a CND symbol through it. The back simply says “FUCK WOODSTOCK” in big bold letters! Again, the shirt is in absolutely top condition, and size-wise is similar to the white one.
Again, the only time I’ve ever seen this shirt was at that gig!

There are pictures to be seen in the item description part of the auction pages, which can be found at the links below.

Thanks for lookin’!

Oh, and while I’m here, I have original vinyl copies of Babyteeth and Pleasure Death, which are both extensively signed by Mickey and Andy (Fyffe didn’t turn up). When I say extensively I mean that both wrote mini-essays on them! Well, not quite, but they wrote quite a lot on them, as well as signing them.
I’m not sure I want to sell them, as I still love both those albums, but I might be interested in considering offers, if anybody is interested that is…

Here are the links for the shirts… just over 4 days left to get them.

Hi Rob, I remember getting the 7” “Merry Fucking Christmas” from ya on ebay a few years ago - might well be interested in one of those shirts. I’ll keep a watchful eye, as will a few other silent sneaks from around here, I’m sure! :)

Hiya Alan. Ah yes, I remember it well! I hope you’re still enjoying the 7”? From having a quick read of some of the older threads here, it seems that the original gig version of Merry Fucking Christmas is still one of the most sought after Therapy? records. The funny thing is, I went to the Dublin gig with about 6 or 7 mates, and we got there early to queue up and make sure we got the 7”. So I know of at least 6 or 7 other copies that are probably lying around in boxes in attics around the place! I’d call around and steal them all, but most of the lads have either moved away now or I’ve lost touch. I noticed as well that people seem to be saying that 1000 were given away, 500 at each gig. Well, I don’t know about Belfast, but unless my memory is playing tricks, there was nowhere near that many in Dublin.

Anyway, I’m glad the shirts are of interest, hopefully they’ll end up going to a good home that will make more use of them than I did!

Well, the old fanclub magazine printed a discography back in the day, and the single was listed as a limited run of 1000 copies. Was the Belfast gig before the Dublin one? That might explain why/if there was fewer at the Dublin show.

But yeah, you should try and get your hands on those other copies ‘cos there’s always people looking for them. Better to be owned by current fans than being boxed up in an attic somewhere!

hiya alan, since you spent so much on the drumskins, does that mean you’re gonna leave the t-shirts for the rest now? :)

:p Yeah, those skins rocked! Now I have a skin signed by Fyfe, Andy & Micheal, and 3 signed by Graham, Andy, Micheal & Martin. Next, I’m looking for one signed by Neil… ah well, at least I can hope!

I did bid on the Summer Of Hate shirt, but there’s a limit on what I’ll pay for a second hand shirt, even if it was very cool :(
