I agree with you, but he is a good role model 4 people who go on Ricky Lake and copy him. If they didn’t spend all there time putting on the make up and stuff, they’d probably be out kiling people, like me for instance. But he is shit, and I don’t like him.

yea atleast he’s something. he isnt wasting his time analyzing and judging other’s on message boards but rather using his first amendment and adding expression to idea’s that he has. and people are listening and that’s good. very good.

mr manson gets attention for what he does not how he dresses and what makes him get even more attention is the fact that he backs up what he say’s.
if it was only about his dress mags would only take pictures of him. but they take interviews and thats where the controversy starts.
all hair metal bands used to dress up to but they didnt have anything to say so no one cared.

Even though I don’t like Mr manson’s music, I respect his efforts to try something a bit different and to shock as many people as possible, it’s just a pitty that his music doesn’t have the same effect. To be honest (and I don’t wish to offened anyone) the songs that I have heard have very little identity, or originality and there are too many bands who sound like that. For example, the song used at the end of ‘the Matrix’ just after R.A.T.M’s ‘wake up’, sounds nothing like the other stuff of his (that I’ve heard). To be honest I thought it sounded like a modern David Bowie song.
I suppose that’s what I like about bands like therapy?, you can instantly tell it’s Andy singing (especially on the new songs), he’s got his own stlye of singing and that’s what I think Marilyn Manson unfortunatly lacks.
Maybe I’m wrong and just ignorant, but I was just voicing my opinion on the matter. To be honest I don’t know whether I’m right or not!

there’s no such thing as apolitical music. your just a reflection of the enviromemnt you grew up in which is shaped by the political and economic sitiuations around you. so whether you like it or not you are reflecting that.
music is a very good way to get your point across. there’s nothing as good as poetry with music. rage against the machine are a good example of that.
i like bands that have a message or meaning. manson has a lot to say and i’m glad that he can get his point across and people have access to it.

(1) He IS clever, witty and has a lot to say (I know Ive been going on about his autobiography but READ IT!)

(2) In the chart run down or whatever you see a manufactured group talking about the love of their lives or whatever,followed by a 6ft naked skinny white man with ‘tits’ and no genitals singing about sodomy and drugs - hes a refeshing alternative and hes funny!

(3) He pisses people off (even hardened T? fans!)

OK its unfortunate that many kids take him too seriously and he does rip off a lot of other acts (Bowie, A Cooper, NIN), and they may not be especially musically gifted but hes still one of the most ‘alternaive’ artists of the 90s

OK, I suppose the environment you grow up in does have an effect, I just think it can wear off, you can make it do that. I suppose when you look at bands like Therapy? you can see that their music reflects their background and their background made them like they are. I agrre with that, i think I was arguing for the sake of it.
