I think I’ve gone insane!

Ok, so last night I got home from work and was really wasted( I had not had a single beer for the record). But my mind was really somewhere else because I took the towel and started drying myself…there was only one little detail which prevented the drying part: I was still under a RUNNING shower…how low can you go…

Actually I didn’t catch much sleep lately, and sometimes it makes you feel really light in the head, quite comparable to being drunk. Last saturday I was in a pub, and the toilets are upstairs, so when i got back i went from step 12 to step 3, and I am not implying that I have got very long legs here…I need to look after myself alittle better I guess!

How many hours sleep would you normally get in an average night?

normally about 6 hours, but last weeks the average won’t be more than 4 because there are builders on the roof, and they start working early in the morning, but today I slept 8 hours and feeling better now!

That could be true. I usually sleep 4-6 hours a night, and even now, when I got some days off. I can’t sleep any longer.

About a year ago when I wasn’t working I had been playing a lot of Earth and Beyond (Yeah, I’m not sure why either). So on my 74th hour without sleeping I had come up with a theory that people didn’t need to eat, sleep, or even breathe… that we did these things because we’ve always been told we had to. Lets just say that this was the point when my friends threatened to PUT me to sleep if I didn’t go… hehe, I swear, no adventure in those guys!

74 hours without sleep? How did you feel afterwards?
I once did 36 hours withour sleep, and then did a 240 km cycling tour in the Belgian Ardennes in temperatures of 36 C. It felt great!
Usually I sleep 5 to 6 hours and it depends on the amount of alcohol the night before how I feel when I wake up; without I feel refreshed, with I feel pissed and even worse than when I’m drunk ;)
I sleep best if I do some excersise early in the evening (running or cycling, just for an hour or so), but I don’t think it appeals to any of you, does it ;)

Feel? hehe, no no, after that long without sleep, there is no feel. I can only imagine that this is what fasting is like. Since then I do have trouble sleeping. Usually I get in an hour, work, get home and sleep for 5 hours… do the usual, work, get home, sleep for an hour… you get the idea. Until a year ago I’d sleep for 10 hours at a time… I really miss that!

Sounds horrible. A lot of people think lightly about sleep, but it’s one of the most important aspects of life! We cannot survive without it. If your sleeping disability (that’s what it is) doesn’t improve, I’d advise you to seek medical help. Take care.

actually, cycling in the early evening appeals to me a lot. but at the moment it’s cold and dark in the early evenings, which is not very motivating… roll on springtime!

I do half an hour on an eliptic walking machine then 2 hours of weights every 2nd day. This is a pain in the ass if I’ve not had enough sleep the night before, so I really value my sleep :) I also have 45 min bus ride into work every day, so without enough rest I turn into one crabby mofo.

So on my 74th hour without sleeping

I once went over 50 hours without sleeping on a school trip,it was a bit like Invasion Of The Body Snatchers once you went to sleep thats when they got you. Some people on the trip got parts of their eyebrows shaved off or shaving foam sprayed on their hands so they would rub it on their face when they were sleeping.I survived the weekend with my eyebrows intact because i warned everyone before we went i would kill them if they tried to shave mine. When i got home my mum says i was like a bear with a sore head because i was so grumpy but the weekend was good fun especially sneaking into the girls room :D and the assualt course.

Whilst travelling this summer I hardly got much sleep at all for two months, and was drinking vast quantities of alcohol every day, and I thought I was losing my mind on several occasions.

Plenty of staying in bed and stopping drinking spirits when I got home sorted me out, though :)

Title: Freaky

This has been happening for about a year now, sometimes when leave a room and come back in the lights have been turned off, with no explanation, it just happened five minutes ago hence this post. I hope i’m not doing it myself without realising because there is something wrong with my head. But i am positive this is not the case.

Your post made me think of that scene in the exorcist where during the exorcism they are shouting- “The power of christ compells you!”.

Title: sleep

i usually sleep about 6-7 hours a night. but i’m still tired no matter how much sleep i get. i have M.E (chronic fatigue syndrome) which is extremely annoying because it changes my life quite alot. obviously M.E means im tired all the time but some people just dont realise how bad it is, i can sleep whenever i want (sometimes good on long journeys) but there is always a feeling of tiredness, last year i was doing my french gcse listening exam and fell asleep, even the other day i was walking down stairs and fell asleep, which was actually quite funny looking back. i can go to sleep in the day if i feel cant go on, but when i wake up i actually feel worse most of the time. its very strange and there doesnt seem to be a cause for it.

Does anyone else have Chronic Fatigue Syndrome?
