They were fabulous! and of course destroyed the set afterward :)
I saw Jetplane Landing the Saturday before that. they’re a fabulous Irish band from derry. Really heavy. Have you heard ‘em? Apparently they are Kerrang1 darlings - which is not a good tihng. But I like them.

The 2 last ones were Massive Attack and Hell Is For Heroes. They were both very good although I thought that Massive Attack were a bit better, because they always make an amazing show.

Yeah well, now you’ve got 2501 to go :D
Anyway, last concert I went to was Golden Green in Aalst, Belgium, 3 weeks ago.
Probably nobody has a clue who they are, but they opened the Rock Ternat festival in 2000 when Therapy? was headlining there ;)

Cool - I’m going to see them in Manchester on Saturday, I saw them play at Glastonbury 2000 and they were awesome, but a couple of mates saw them on the last UK tour and they said Maynard was a bit of a twat on stage and everyone had their mobile phones confiscated incase they had a camera in - dont know how true this is though,

Yes true, all mobile phones, MD-players, CD-players, camera’s are taken in. Very tight security and you can’t smoke during the gig! If you do you will be kicked out…
In Tilburg the was security on stage with a little light that could point to people that did smoke.
It’s doesn’t bother me that much… I thought it was all worth it.
Allthought I wish I had my camera with me when standing in front of MM-bass-player, he was soooo sexy :D

well, i saw APC last night in cambridge. as mentioned on here already by other people the security was very stringent (at the request of the band). so strict infact that by the time we got into the hall, we had already missed all of melissa auf der maurs set which put me in a bad mood to start off with. APC themselves were very good but there was absolutely zero atmosphere throughout the whole gig. i was a bit let down really as i was expecting a great night but infact only got a good one.

…and they were fucking ace - it was a bit shit with the almost brutal approach to cameras and cig’s but they played really well and they seemed to be enjoying themselves! Class act - shame it only lasted till half 10 though!

Title: Chimaira
I am going to see Chimaira during this week , i havent heard them before but anything for a giggle. I have decided to start and go to see more gigs to broaden my musical tastes.
Could be very good?
I think the worst gig i could go to would be going to see Dido but hopefully i will never have to endure such a thing.

Last Friday my rockchick and I decided to go to Dog Eat Dog in Arnsberg (Germany)… we did not know they were still alive so it seemed a good idea to check them out…
The old songs were still quite ok (especially Rocky), but the new stuff sounded like shit… that’s not looking too good for their new album I’m afraid :(
It seems 2 guys left the band and 1 big fat bongo player joined them, his added value is 0 so they could have left him out as well…
Even more painful was that the support act, Fallaway, was actually much better compared to Dog Eat Dog as they played a mix between Deftones and Papa Roach…
But it was a nice evening out and again another German city that has met my Therapy? car :D
Also quite shocking that we got again the setlist

I was quite impressed by Auf der Maur in Manchestria aswell. I wasn’t sure about APC though- they had some good ideas for the show, lighting etc, and by the end I’d warmed to it but I seem to remember large periods of time watching Josh and trying to work out what his cymbal setup was- a sign that the rest of it wasn’t too enthralling eh?
Oh and request of the band no to smoke? A mate of mine met Troy Van Leeuwen when Enemy suported Mark Lanegan (I think) a few months ago and according to him all such things are done because of Maynard alone. For example the reason that they only played for an hour last time round in the Academy. Silly wig wearing man- wonder when he’ll stop people talking at gigs! :D

that guy who tackled the singer (sorry, what was his name again?) until they both ended up on the ground between the audience…
and i’m sorry to say, for me there were too many “yo’s” and “jump, jump”…and “dog-eat-dog-in-da-house…in da doghouse”…never knew, that they were so much “hiphoppish”, especially the new songs…but hey i already got for 5 days that rocky song in my mind…:)
but a big hooray for the support.
