Hey

Hi,

Just discovered my old Therapy? album (Suicide Pact) and listened to it for the first time since I was about 16. I can’t believe I’ve gone so long without this!

I doubt I’ll post much on here - don’t have anything of much relevence or interest to say, but I will be reading frequently, no doubt.

Most importantly, though, I desperately want to catch up and back-track around Suicide Pact, so what do you reckon is the best way to go, bearing in mind I’m a student, on a budget?

Cheers in advance…

Jules (feeling blissful listening to Six Mile Water)

Hi man, welcome and all that! :)

Yeah, Suicide Pact is a rocking album, the band made that with a “fuck the press/media” attitude. It was a deliberately noisy array of tunes.

If you’re looking for other albums, the most popular T? by far (as far as the general public go anyway) is 1994’s Troublegum. It’s more direct and punk rock/metal in it’s approach. Not my favourite album, but possibly the “safest” for you to buy, if you know what I mean.

If you’re looking for a noisy garage album - no Therapy? album sounds like ‘Suicide Pact’, but ‘Caucasian Psychosis’ from 1992 is certainly the closest noisy bastard of a record. You can’t really go wrong with that album, although the production is a little horrible.

Failing all that, their 2003 album ‘High Anxiety’ is well worth the cost of a few pints.

Whichever album you buy, you can’t really go wrong… unless you’re talking to Hooch, and she’ll tell you to run a mile from ‘Shameless’, but that’s another story for another day! …the poor dellusional woman :(

:)

Hello, and I’m sure you’ve actually got loads of interesting stuff to say, or just complete waffle (works for me)

You might find Babyteeth and Pleasure Death a bit easier to find in the UK - Caucasian Psychosis is an amalgamation of these 2. Babyteeth’s the better (IMHO)

This is album with no weak songs - don’t listen to what anyone tells you My Voodoo Doll as it is a good song and they have been kidnapped by aliens. The band have effectively released it twice, so must be quite keen on it.

Hooch…the poor dellusional woman :(

but possibly quite cute. She keeps resisting requests to post her picture on the site.

Hello and welcome :D

Personally I’d recommend getting Semi Detached, as this is my second favourite T? album after Suicide Pact. Buy everything else before you buy Shameless, to ensure you have gathered enough faith in the band to excuse it. ;)

@Rob; nice try :p

I can confirm. And I have the photo to prove it :D

Welcome Jules! I personally love Suicide Pact as well - it’s my favourite T? album. As far as recommendations go I have nothing to add to Alan’s post - I completely agree.

jules, I’d recommend Troublegum and Nurse to start off with, then Infernal Love, Babyteeth, Semi-Detached, High Anxiety and Shameless. Hi and welcome to WoM, btw.

hooch, show us your pic :) Seeing as you have a kid, I’m sure you’re a MILF.

Look, CE, if you were in the UK (I assume you’re not for the purposes of this crappy post?!) you’d have seen her in the pages of The Sun… on page 3.

Now, don’t get me wrong, this is not a post about tits.

Ahem.

Cos what I noticed is that the paper now gives the models who appear on that particular page a “voice”… so they get to comment on current affairs etc…

So it’s basically a case of Hoocch standing there with her pint of bitter, and her tits out, saying, “Well, Avril Lavigne can fuck off, and I’ll see T? at the top of the charts”. And then there is some condescending comment by a Sun journalist below.

Maybe.

Anyway, here you go: http://www.therapyquestionmark.co.uk/wallofmouths/showthread.php? … #post56632 (me in the glasses), though I think somebody should tell me what a MILF is?

Heh heh, see? Knew she wanted to reveal herself. That’s NOT a page 3 reference!

Alex, do you really think I’m the type of person that reads The Sun? No! You have to pay for that, Metro is a much better paper :D

Page 3, tits, hmm, do they have some sort of wildlife column? Garden birds and the like? Am not quite sure where Hooch would fit with this.

Haven’t you seen American Pie?

MILF = Mother I’d Like to Fuck :)

It’s applied to all fit mums, like Heather Locklear, Pam Andreson, etc, but is usually applied when you fancy your best friend’s mum.

Doesn’t happen very often to me, in fact, I don’t think it has :) But seeing as people have adopted the term MILF and think it’s funny, I’m sure some people sleep with their friend’s mum :)

Some 15 year old was in the paper for raping his mother, which seemed like a particularly salacious crime for the tabloids.
