Now these T? fellas dont add up! Yeah I told Andy that the reason I started playing was because of Lars Ulrich and Fyfe and we got chatting about him. Andy said the Fyfe felt that he didn’t do enough for drumming (I suppose in the way of inspiring others to play or in the way they play) aswell as the other reasons for his depature. He then did tell that he was still a good mate and that he’d actually tell Fyfe. Then again I was pissed so he have been trying to get rid of me :) come to think he got Neil over pretty soon after that and did one… hmmm… :D

Title: martin & mareike – our two cents

first we have to say that this is really pissing us off big time!
it all seems like a bad dream…
I (mareike) was in denmark when I got martin´s phone call and he told me the bad news…I was simply shocked and so was martin.
our only question is WHY, WHY ?????????
we´ve been to lots of shows of the recent tour and there were no signs for martin leaving the band…we really just can´t understand it!!!
we even can´t imagine therapy? working without martin…to us he´s always been an important part of the band…since we saw our first show in 2000.
we do and did miss graham a lot, too but martin…that´s sth. totally different!!!
it just makes us speachless in some way…

to martin mc c.:
we´d just wish you´d come back…
we want to tell you that we´re gonna miss you damned much!!! you´re a brilliant musican and we had a lot of fun together the past 4 years…
we really do hope to see you again…somewhere, somewhen, who knows!!!
your cello solos rule, man :D
love and respect…
-martin & mareike

indeed, what’s done’s done

I saw T? like 20 times over the last 12 years.

I saw them with Fyfe, as a 3-piece. I saw them in all possible configurations (also with the lady cello player and live violin players for Diane).
I’ve got all albums.
I have to say:

T? sounded great as a 3-piece, had superb songs, with the Troublegum album as the top. For me personally this was the best T? ever (even live). Maybe because at the time i already was a huge fan.

With Martin and the other new members T? sounded (and still sounds) different, but great. They made unforgettable songs like Bad Mother, … as a 4-piece.

What’s the point now for me, T? fan for years?
I never met the band personally, i just thought there music was and still is the best there is and live i’ve never seen better live shows (really, i’ve seen a lot of the “world stars”).

I believe you people as you say Martin is a great guy and i know he’s a great musician, but the story of THERAPY? continues.

Let’s listen to the new songs and album.
Let’s watch the furthcomming live shows.

Afterwards we can make the true opinion wether T? is better with or without Martin.

Different it will be!

I guess the reactions differ depending on when you got into T? I got into T? back in ‘99, when Martin was one of the band for quite a while already. So to me, Martin has always been a bandmember as much as Andy or Michael are members of T? Therefore, I am kinda shocked, and sad that he is no longer a bandmember. I can imagine that those who got into T? in the Fyfe-era, without Martin, are somewhat less shocked or angry, cos they never saw Martin on a par with Andy and Michael.
I do think that the ‘monetary thing’ should never have been mentioned, cos it’s the complete opposite of what T? stands for!

BTW, a piece of cynism:

We fired our drummer yesterday evening…
What a fu**ing strange situation, sitting there and talking ´bout random bullshit, since nobody wanted to take the first step…
Can´t imagine, that it was an easy decision to make for “rest” of T?, after working together for so many years…

Maybe he’s not left/sacked. Maybe they killed him in a drunken Irish brawl and have hidden the body in a Marshall amp. They’ll pretend he went on a long trip to find himself but in fact they’re covering up his murder.

Title: Martin…

Hey all,

I, like everyone, was enormously saddened to hear the news about Martin leaving. Martin’s a close mate of mine - a tremendously nice man, a fantastic musician (whose talents were only hinted at in T?), always made time for the fans (even the more insane among us ;-), and a generally wonderful addition to the band. He filled out T?’s sound enormously.

It’s up to Martin himself to set the record straight about why he left the band.

But it’s too bad, as I, for one, feel that for various reasons including Martin’s leaving, that my own 13-year odyssey with the boys is pretty much winding down. It’s a shame. At more than one point in our travels, I considered Michael and Andy to be mates of mine. And I’ll still say that they’re among the friendliest people on earth.

Still, people and relationships change, don’t they? And I think that’s all anyone really needs to know when wondering about what happened.

In the meantime, I’m well excited about what cool stuff the future holds for Martin musically! And I’ll do my best to keep everyone posted about it all - if Martin doesn’t do it himself!
xM

Here is what I think happened:

The guys were rehearsing/tuning some new songs and Martin is trying some things he’s been hoping to try for a long time. The rest of the band doesn’t agree and thinks it’s shit. Martin slips his tongue and says that in the band he’s trying to put together this kind of stuff would fit in perfectly and he would like T? to try this new style aswell. The rest of the band don’t like the fact of him having a sideproject and force him to choose. When he refuses they decide to sack him and the rest can be read on another part of this site.

I want to add that T? sound much greasier as a threepiece. Belgian visitors will now what I mean. I’m glad I have Martin eternalised on DVD though.

Anyhow guys - I think we should quit all the speculation. And any talk about the band “owing” us an explanation is bullshit. Let them get on with it, and hopefully the next album will be really good!

AFter being into T? since the SSS ep, I think the no-longer-quite-so-current line up was my favourite, although this is partly due to such a good setlist last tour.

How long should Martin’s picture stay up on the front page?

… I check this every day.
Maybe one day a big cross is painted over his face or instead of the pic there is a gemil… or a questionmark - That would do justice on whats going on here
(and back on topic):

WHERE IS OUR (well deserved) STATEMENT???
