Stone Temple Pilots

What do you guys think of S.T.P ? Personally, I’ve always loved them and was pissed when they called it a day. To make things worse there was only one new song on the best of. But on the ltd. edition bonus DVD there is so much stuff such as all their vids and live performences, it could have been released as a DVD to be sold by itself.

If you ever wanted to check them out, the best of is a good starting place, if you’re a fan already, spend a couple of extra quid and get the version with the DVD, it’s class.

When I bought Thank You, the version with DVD was nowhere to be found. These days it’s the other way round. I could kick myself for not waiting for it.

I always liked them - even on the first album when they had that massive backlash about them ripping off other bands style (which i thought was a bit unjustified)…

The DVD is great - thats the only reason why I bought the best of

Dig up an old thread time…

http://www.mininova.org/tor/1067275 - the Stone Temple Pilots MTV unplugged set from around 1994 ish.

I taped this when it was shown on MTV - but as I haven’t had a VHS player for some time and as all my tapes are in a box in the attic - i found it on a torrent site.

Its well worth a watch - Weilands voice is fantastic - there is no ego!! its pretty obvious this was recorded before he developed a fondness for the crack n’ smack…

yeah - they had a few really good ones in the space of a couple of years - Nirvana, Pearl Jam and Alice In Chains were the stand out ones

They also recorded a cover of David Bowie’s “Andy Warhol” that night, I believe. It’s the b-side of the “Vaseline” single.

‘Vasoline’, ‘Sex & Violence’, ‘Wicked Garden’, ‘Sin’, ‘Dead & Bloated’and ‘No Memory’ has probably been on the playlist of many a pool party at Barimore’s gaff though!
