I saw Lost in Translation last month. Wanted to watch it at the filmfestival in Rotterdam, but of course it was sold out before I could get a ticket. I really enjoyed it! Think it’s one of the funniest films I’ve seen this year. Did any of the Italian fans see Catarina va in Citta? That one was hilarious. Remember the name!

Title: Event Horizon

I remember watching this in the house on my own and there is a scene which shows the flight recorder of what happened to the crew on the ships first outing, i had to turn the TV off!
I saw a weird horror movie called The Sentinel recently, about a model who’s apartment block is a gateway to hell and she is set to be the next guardian of the gateway. It had some really funny and freaky scenes and the old trainer guy out of “Rocky” plays the devil, anyone saw it?

some christian couple were complaining about the passion of the christ because it was so violent and they had taken their 3 or 4 year old song along when it’s quite clearly an R-rated (they were american) film!

That scene is just sick - total human depravity…it’s great! :D

in belgium they want to prohibit the passion of christ in theaters because it supposedly would be a “dangerous” movie.

I don’t like blood and gore when I go to the movies, but to say it is a danger for the community, come on!!!

From a religious point of view, the movie could be considered dangerous. For instance, Antwerp has a big Jewish community, right? I can imagine they won’t be amused by this movie.

Just saw Irreversible for the 3rd time. Great movie, very violent and very realistic. Not one for the faint of heart.

Event Horizon? Shite! Poor man’s Hellraiser 2! Saw Dawn of the Dead remake a bit back.. not bad, but not as good as the original story-wise.

Should be seeing Shaun of the Dead soon, now that looks like a top quality bollocks film!

As easter is the time of resurrection, I went to see Dawn of the Dead, followed by Shaun of the Dead.

Both good movies, although Shaun just shaded it. I’m glad it didn’t fall into the post ‘28 days later’ trap - ‘hey man, zombies can be FAST’

Event Horizon - very poor IMO.

2 weeks to Kill Bill 2 :D

I might also get to see Shaun of The Dead tomorrow, depending on if my money clears by then.

I haven’t bought a lot of boxed sets because they’re fairly expensive here, and because of their monetary value, if I buy them from play.com or some other e-tailer I have to pay taxes on them :( Rest assured that I’m looking to buy quite a few.

Today I received the Fawlty Towers 2 series on DVD in the mail :) My next purchases will probably be a couple of Vietnam films. Any recommendations? Full Metal Jacket, Platoon and Apocalypse Now are definitely being bought.

What fucked me up is Quint getting eaten alive in Jaws. Now that’s harsh.

I got the first series of Twin Peaks Boxed set. Try watching 7 episodes of that in a row without walking backwards everywhere snapping your fingers and telling people: “retsis ym si remlap aruarl”.

Screws you up.

http://www.play.com are doing the family guy series’ at £10.99 each - it is cheaper to buy them a series at a time than spend £45 on the box set - i finally ordered series 2 & 3 last week - i hope they come in todays post - i can sit down with a few beers and watch them back to back -

Aren’t holidays off work great?
