it’s maybe a bit off topic?????? (or not, as people are talking about visiting in this thread??????), but i was wondering what people who aren’t from n.i. that go to belfast actually think of it? - be honest! it’s just that if i meet people who had been there i have heard mixed reviews. i always thought it was cool enough place - rains alot, but there is some nice architecture and as long as you don’t mix with the spides the people are generally friendly enough. and mostly up for a good time. plus the guinness is good!
anyway, feel free to voice your opinion…

Yup, I’ll be hiding in a box at the airport ready to jump out and say “surprise!”
I went to Belfast twice last year, the first time was to go see T? and the second time I went with my then-boyfriend for a bank holiday weekend just cause I really loved the place. It is really friendly, the city is beautiful (looks quite like Leeds, actually ;)) and I had a fantastic time both trips. It’s a shame I can’t stay for long this time, just an overnighter.

The box will probably be destroyed in a controlled explosion before you get the chance to leap out of it and say anything other than ‘ARRRGGGGHH!!!’ but it’s a nice gesture. :)

I thought it’d be okay if I just wrote ‘does not contain bomb’ on the side? I’ll make sure to write ‘this way up’ too cause it’ll be hard to jump out if I’m stood on my head. :D

She looks friendly, but I guess a picture is only a picture after all… I could be in for quite a surprise here

its gonna be a good day in belfast there’s music on everywhere you go and the place will be buzzing.
Any of you visitors looking for places to hit afterwards should definatly check out Auntie Annies - Dublin Road, for a quick pint then onto Katy Daly’s & finish the night at The Limelight - Ormeau Avenue (£5 in and stays open to 2:00am)

I went to Auntie Annie’s last time and also Lavery’s which was cool. Is the Limelight the one that’s kind of an L shape and has a little stage area in the corner? That was a cool place.

The limelight is in kinda of an L shape, but I think your thinking of the FrontPage, its pretty cool too, but a little outta the way.

Yep, there were definitely stairs. That was the time when I got accused of being a perv cause I was chatting up the drummer of the band who were playing and then it turned out he was 14  - I blame it all on the Aftershock.

So they’re both playing full-length sets? That’s something, but I’m still interested to know who’s on first.

Therapy? will probably play last seeing their on the home turf, the shows running from 6 - 10, so we could expect around approx 1h15 per headliner.

I thnk the capacity of the Mandela Hall is about 1,000. No more than that. The Ulster Hall would hold more.
Seen Therapy? there twice and both gigs rocked. I won’t be able to make it this time as I’ve been invited to a wedding reception in the evening!
I was holding off on going as I heard Ash were playing in Belfast at the same time and was undecided on which gig I wanted to go to. I’m a big fan of both bands. Looks like I won’t be going to either now!!

Getting to the front? Get there early! Crowd surfing will get you there, but you’ll be standin there for 2 seconds before one of the nazi generals ships you off to the side and you have to start again. (Which I invariably do!)
I seen one guy on the scopophobia video surf about 6-7 times - bastard. i did it about 3-4 times on that gig and i never got on the fuckin thing! Must be too ugly!
FFAF can fuck off if they think they’re gonna finish the night. well, i’d say a lot of the crowd would if t? played before them!
cant wait to be flyin on the happy stuff (hmm). bring on may 1st!
p.s. - i wonder if bruce dickinson will fly himself in!
