Thought I’d get the ball rolling on this one again.

I’ve got my tickets sitting in Glasgow, my plane tickets booked and my T-shirt ironed (ok scratch the last one).

See you Motherfuckers in the pit! :D

I think the user registered as robert is going to the Edinburgh gig, and possibly the Glasgow one.

Remember to post your gig reviews in this thread :)

Do you think Therapy? Will be going to Nice and Sleazy’s afterwards? It’s just across the road. Also, do you think they’ll play “Nice’n’Sleazy”, the b-side to the “Trigger Inside?” single in tribute?

I thought it was a requirement among the Glasgow brethen to partake in consumption of Buckfast.

Truly, one cannot walk through Paisley, Hillhead or past the Cannongate without witnessing at least one of Glasgow’s shellsuited supping said “wine”.

Buckfast is as much a part of Glasgow as heroin, Old Firm incidents, missing hubcaps or urine on street corners.

You are a weegie,
a f*cking weegie,
You’re only happy on giro day,
Your mum’s a stealer,
Your dad’s a dealer,
please don’t take my hubcaps away…

Just kidding, you know I love Glesgie. Can’t wait to go back. I don’t know if I’m moving there or London after my army service is over, but I’m definitely going back. I really wish I could be at this gig, because Glasgow rock/metal crowds are the best in the world.

Btw, do you have a really broad accent? I have a friend from Ayr, and I could not understand anything he said for the 1st 3 weeks of knowing him. Just as well we were down the pub for most of it:)

Title: Doors opening at 6:30 in Glasgow? (merged)

What the hell happened there?

Following the bands advice to avoid spending too long in the pub we decided to walk over at 7:30 (the time we had been told the doors were opening). Following much searching of each person we eventually got to the hall at 8:01 to find Therapy? 10 minutes from the end of their set.

Then, to add insult to injury, i spot the Scopophobia DVD for £15 with a free T-shirt. Its a great dvd but if i had taken along the copy that i preordered and paid £17.99 for then would i have got a t-shirt?

The end of the set was fantastic and it was good to see the 3 of them enjoy themselves so much and relaxing so comfortably into being a 3 piece again. Just wish i had seen more than 2 whole songs.

Odd. I’m from glasgow and i had always considered Paisley to be in Paisley and Cannongate to be in Edinburgh.

Buckfast makes 1/3 of its total sales in Airdrie just a few miles outside Glasgow. Shame the stuff is disgusting. I much prefer MD 20/20 who are hopefully soon to be proud sponsors of “The Dangerfields and Yer Maw world tour of Scotland, Ireland and wherever else will have us” tour.

I want to know who decided to open the doors at 6:30. surely 7:30 is the earliest T? have played in at least a decade (excluding festivals).

Yeah, they played a new song - an instrumental, and quite a short number. My mate said it sounded like Rush!!!

The full set (not in order):

Nowhere
Teethgrinder
Die Laughing
Potato Junkie
Knives
Rust
* New Song *
If It Kills Me
Stop It You’re Killing Me
Dancing With Manson
Screamager
Isolation

The early start seemed to catch a lot of people on the hop, but by the end of T?’s set the place was pretty full. The boys were on great form - they were enjoying it as much as the crowd were.

I thought they had blown the Wildhearts away, but I have to admit the headliners were superb as well.

See y’all in Embra tonight.

Paisley is Paisley I know, I just couldn’t think of any more names of places in Glasgow.

Wrt to the Cannongate comment, I meant that area past the Barrowlands when you’re walking from the city centre… past the Trongate. I accidentally got lost walking past the Barrowlands once and I was in complete ned-dom. What’s the area called? I thought it was… C*something*gate.

Can’t think of any C-gate places in Glasgow though you may be thinking of the Gallowgate.

Just checked http://www.cplweb.com to see what The GArage has to say about the opening times and they have it listed as 7.

At least if it had been moved to the Barrowlands when it sold out then the place wouldn’t have needed emptied at 10pm and the bands could have played a bit longer.

Still can’t figure why the tour wasn’t a double headliner since most people i spoke to thought T? were the better band of the 2 and deserved more than 40 minutes.

You’re probably right. The Gallowgate sees familiar.

I still can’t figure out why they’d play the Garage when both bands could easily fill it on their own. The Wildhearts played the Barrowlands last year supported by Amen (or was it the other way around? I didn’t go, but I organised an interview with the Wildhearts for a friend of ine), and Therapy? definitely has a bigger fanbase than Amen.

My ex-flatmate went to the Edinburgh gig last night and said it was like Metallica supporting a Croatian Status Quo covers band :)

Have to say that in my honest opinion Therapy? were the better band last night. I’ve loved both bands for years but Therapy? had a better sound last night and looked like they were really enjoying it. The new song sounded good, very heavy - maybe a bit rough round the edges but gives me hope for the new material.

The Wildhearts for me were disappointing. Many of their songs just seemed to get swallowed by the volume - yeah they rocked hard but just a wee bit dull for me. T? will have won back many old fans after this tour!

Title: Glasgow gig.

First we completely missed Glitterati because of the early start and got in for Teethgrinder. The crowd was really not into it and getting some movement going was near impossible. I also thought they sounded a little empty with only one guitar. Neil’s drumming was superb though, like Fyfe only with more bass.

The new songs sounded ok and were quite rocky so that was good.

I also thought the Wildhearts were shite. We were bored senseless after 3 songs and spent the rest of the evening at the bar chatting.

Overall I was not very impressed and I don’t think I’ll travel this far for a T? gig again. Especially if playing as the support band. :(

That sucks man. I guess playing a short and early set with no support from the crowd sucks.

The Wildarse have never been that good IMO. Why on Earth Therapy? are going on before them at the Garage is beyond me.

Slightly shorter set than Glasgow, but they rocked like bastards anyway. Definitely blew the Wildhearts away.

Shame they did a shorter set. I think they will blow the Wildhearts off stage in most places. Watching The Wildhearts on Saturday i noticed that they have a limited number of rock moments that they use quite a lot. T? just rock and don’t need cliches.

Both are good at what they do but T? have a certain class when they take the stage that no other bands can match.

got to the gig at about 7.45 but they took a while letting us in - when we did get in therapy? were nearly finished their set and only saw 4 songs. I spoke to someone at my work who was at the gig and they said doors opened early again and the 1st band had finished by 7pm so I assume therapy? were on at about 7.30. I don’t think venues should be able to change the times particularly for these gigs as a lot of people would have been there for therapy?

as for the songs I did see, I thought therapy? were excellent and they really seemed to be enjoying it. I thought it worked well as a 3 piece and its the first time I have noticed what a good drummer neil is. I’d never seen the wildhearts before and I never will again - they were absolute shite - I thought they were so bad I left after 4 songs.

Yar, last night was good too, but the venue was clastrophobic! Liked being right up to the stage though, therapy? blew the wildhearts off the stage again, love the sound of the new shit I heard in both glasgow and edinburgh.

i wish therapy? were headliners though, I like the wildhearts but they are cocky bastards and therapy/ are clearly the better band :D

Caught the full set at the Garage, more by luck than anything as me and my good lady were drinking at the corner of the downstairs bar when Andy and co wandered past to go on stage.

The crowd were definitely not as mad as previous headline Glasgow gigs, but they were maybe caught on the hop by the early appearance. Was a bit pissed off that tickets said doors open at 7 but Glitterati had long been and gone.

Quite liked the intimacy in a way, as we were right down the front and it was almost like seeing an early pub gig compared to the last xx times I’ve seen them. They were in fine form and the drumming was $%$%in brilliant.

On the whole the whole band were fan f%$%intastic to quote Michael and definitely giving out with renewed vigour. In our opinion there was no contest who should have been headlining. The bouncer down stairs agreed. Therapy? have the best toons! Roll on the next headline set!
