It’s true. I am sat in my rocking chair, with shawl wrapped round to keep my withered frame warm, drinking my Earl Grey tea and thinking about knitting patterns for the lovely jumper I’m making you for your birthday.

Heheh, you’ve spent all day working on CV’s and talking yourself up, and after about two posts from me you’ve retired to a life of knitting and Earl Grey… :D

@ Rico

You should start a thread on here about you gig - might drum up a bit of a crowd.

Hopefully me and a couple of mates should make the 11th…

I just looked at the Southampton link and I don’t see any huge room in an old building type thing?

Has anyone been there before? Just wondered if its a good venue. Thats assuming I get there, looks like we’re all having transport issues. Giving up my car to come to Uni wasn’t the best idea in the world!

Well I’m not absolutely 100% certain, but it does look like it’s going to be where I thought it was. The old building is the bit marked in pale blue (bar 1), but the actual room isn’t on the map. It’s next to bar 1, so I assume it IS the place I’m thinking of, unless that bit has been rebuilt as well, now. It’s sort of where the big ‘cube’ logo is on the map.

hmmm… the box office told me they sell tickets for the wildhearts gig, but they don’t know anything about therapy? playing… weird isn’t it? ah well, i’ll buy them anyway, or have T? pulled out?

No indication that they’re not playing. I guess they’re ‘just’ the support band, so not such a big deal to the box office(?)

The promo for this tour is bizarre, there are posters all over Leeds saying the support for the Wildhearts is Backyard Babies. Lies I tell you!

A few people that I’ve spoken to have mentioned the Backyard Babies in connection with this tour - perhaps they were going to be playing before T? got the call?

This was in Kerrap today -

I saw the wildhearts and therapy? in manchester on friday and they both ruled,i love both bands equally, they are definately the big boys in my collection of bands that i love(haha)
What i thought was weird was that, the glitterati played, and they were amazing but a bad reception from the crowd, then the mighty therapy? came on stage and the reception wasnt much better, what is wrong with mancunian fans?!i thought fans of each band loved the other band as well?.me and my mates do!
I live in portsmouth,so i shall be seeing the so’ton gig too,The guildhall by the way is a great venue, nice and big sometimes the sound is weird but you dont notice too much. Its a big capacity venue and the bar doesnt charge 3quid for a can of red stripe…crappy northern towns do!
So yeah, therapy were great on friday,,,played a new song called’panic’or something which was superb.
happy gigging, see you down the front at southampton.

from what i can remember, this was the setlist:

potato junkie
teethgrinder
nowhere
die laughing
isolation
turn
screamager
church of noise
sister
hey satan you rock

came in halfway through potato junkie, but some bloke said it was the first song. was disappointed that there was so much troublegum, but i suppose it was to be expected: the crowd seemed to like it anyway. on the whole they didn’t seem to know any of the other stuff, even teethgrinder. looking at the setlists for the other gigs though, i was a bit pissed off there wasn’t a new song or one from babyteeth. saw them in the bar before hand and asked michael if they were going to play animal bones. he was obviously not up for a chat.

all in all pretty good though. they missed the extra guitar/cello/good backing vocals, but neil cooper is an absolute star - that’s the 3rd time i’ve seen him and he is better every time. i think a good drummer makes a good live band, and that has always been one of therapy?s strengths. isolation was great - much better than when graham did it.

wildhearts were good, but seeing as i didn’t know their stuff i can’t really say how good they really were. tight and entertaining though, but would’ve benefitted from neil on the drum stool!

‘fraid you missed Meat Abstract mate, that was the first song of the set. Flaming awesome gig, better than many headline performances ive seen of T?. They made up for the short set time by playing the songs at a furious pace. I could hardly keep up!!
