Hell Is For Heros dropped

Hell Is For Heroes have apparently been dropped by their record label.
The band left the following message on their website:

“hey children of rock. following ‘structural changes’ at our label there came a boss who didn’t feel our new album. its a familiar spot but this time we’re heading off to the wilderness that is northern sweden to finish the job our style. no compromises. should be done in a month and we’ll put it up on the web for mass free download. hell is for heroes xxx”

I can’t believe they got dropped i thought their debut album The Neon Handshake was very good,oh well at least there is a free album on the way.

Yeah but no booklet with lyrics and nice artwork to feel and to smell (this isn’t meant kinky, don’t you guys like to smell at CD-booklets? Troublegum is my favourite)

some people shouldn’t be in the fucking music industry, if they make decisions like this one. if this is true, it’s a bummer.

I always found the booklet for Down’s album NOLA was quite fragrant…

Weird huh?

What a fucking shame. I knew EMI were going to drop about 20% of their roster, but I didn’t realise hifh were up for the chop. I guess they need the money, but it’s not as if they spent loads on hell is for heroes.

I interviewed the guys twice, and the venues weren’t too big for the band to sell them out and the backstage areas were fucking scummy. I guess I’ll just have to buy merch to support the guys.

They fucking owned T in the Park last year. The cover of “Boys Don’t Cry” is excellent and even Robert Smith digs it.

This is really sad, as I always thought of hifh as one of the most innovative emo bands out there.

Exactly, they weren’t the highest budget of bands! Getting the old Refused producers in, even though they’re more in demand, couldn’t have been too pricey, and their videos weren’t exactly full of pyro etc! And they were the first band to have an interactive video…

But that’s the world of majors for you kids, never take a risk. It does seem a little odd that they were one of the 20%, particularly because rock fans are more partisan with their support and are less likely to illegally download, but I guess when you take the overall sales, etc.

I have a nasty feeling that rock’s once again on a downward swing, sales-wise. Cave In have been dropped as well; it seems like the more creative bands are destined to remain underground!

I have a feeling the next band for the chop will be Hundred Reasons because their 2nd album has bombed its only been out a few months and its been reduced to a £5 and its still not selling.I’m not a fan i always found them really boring i could never understand why the music press hyped them when Hell Is For Heros are a far better band.

I love em, but each to his own, I guess.

I had a feeling this one would bomb, it’s not got half as many potential singles on.

They’re trying to break Europe at the moment, I saw em in Munich supporting Incubus, and they’re so small over there that they were flyering for themselves! It was weird as a Brit to meet someone you consider to be in a big band having to stand outside promoting himself…

I reckon “A” will bomb with their next album too.

yes, I’m a bit worried it that it won’t match up to hi-fi serious (which is brilliant, in my opinion).

JP said they’re going “a bit prog”, which is a good or bad thing depending on your views of prog rock I guess! And they’ve got Terry Date producing (amazingly), but whether it’s good or not (I agree about HiFi, btw), it’s not really gonna sell, IMO.
