Now in the festivals site is a short story about the band in the news-section (uutiset in finnish). They were the last international performer to the list. So it was a “close-call”…

And I really, really hope that you guys don’t watch Football Euro-championships and cancel this one… Like you did in 1998 when World-championships were… :p
See you there!!!!

It is in the island of Ruissalo, never been there but I know that the ferries go by when they go to the harbour.

Check this link;
http://opaskartta.turku.fi/cgi-bin/GifMap.dll?Theme=-%20Opaskartt … ,&Page
as it shows by the arrow where the festival is and word SATAMA is ferry-harbour in finnish so that is pretty close to the town I guess…

Tickets are sold by http://www.tiketti.fi/index.php?lang=en
and they have this on info at the frontpage.

For International Customer

Tiketti web service is valid only for orders paid and shipped within Finland. International customers should contact Tiketti directly through email (info@tiketti.fi). We will handle your order within two working days.

I know that also http://www.lippupalvelu.fi sells tickets but I haven’t been at their site.

Hope this helps!

As excited as I am about T? coming to Finland to brighten up my life, there’s always something to b*tch&moan about…
Like the rip off ticket prizes of Ruisrock, the crappy way it’s organized, the near-nazi-entrance gate-checkups, the fact that you can’t leave the festival area once you’ve entered it, etc etc…
I’ve managed to boycott Ruisrock for all my festival-going-years due to the reasons above and many more, but now it looks like I might have to finally give in. I understand many of these things are customary in bigger festivals but I’m used to enjoying my music in a more laid back environment, like in the comfort of Ilosaarirock. The funny thing is that I was telling my friend a couple of weeks back that the only way I’m ever gonna go to Ruisrock is if T? play there…Oh the irony.

This is amazing news! T? coming to my hometown! Fucking incredible!

I’ve been waiting this since -98 when they first were suppose to perform @ Ruisrock - and now finally, my dream is coming true!

It would be nice to see other WOMblers before the gig.. We could group up by the stage just before the show or then we could meet by the official “meeting point”…

If someone needs info about the city or accommodation, etc. you can also contact me.

I’m so happy that I can’t stop smiling :) :) :) :) :) :)

Of course we all could meet at the festival! It would be nice to see all the finnish WOMbles and also everyone who is coming outside of Finland too!!!!

I have the samekind of feelings about Ruisrock as you choi, I’m worried about how the busses work to the city and what pisses me the most is that fact you can’t bring your own alcoholic-beverages… They just sell over-priced warm beer at the festival. But at least it is in the beautiful surroundings.

What good finnish bands will play at Ruisrock?
I know only NIGHTWISH, KEMOPETROL, THE 69 EYES, THE RASMUS,
THE FLAMING SIDEBURNS, ELÄKELÄISET, THE CRASH, DON JOHNSON BIG BAND. Some of them i’ve even seen live. DON JOHNSON BIG BAND are really good.

I guess that they haven’t announced the times when the each band will play because in the Ruisrock-site is only the bands that will be there…

I would like to see Nightwish and Eläkeläiset from the bands you know,
then Timo Rautiainen & Trio Niskalaukaus (they sing in finnish, their sound is quite “hard”), http://www.trioniskalaukaus.net

Zen Café (they also sing in finnish, this is a really good live band and), http://www.zencafe.net

Hanoi Rocks (The legends of finnish rock’n’roll, You must know Michael Monroe & Andy McCoy!?! Their drummer Razzle was killed by Mötley Crüe’s Vince Neil in the 80’s, they broke shortly after that but have been back for a few days. They sing in english), http://www.hanoirocks.com

Peer Günt (they sing in english or should I say Finglish, as the singers english isn’t that “smooth” but as their music is “stoner-rock” it suits very fine…), http://www.peergunt.com

Viikate (They sing in finnish and their is lots of finnish melancholy in their sound & lyrics), http://www.viikate.com

Suburban Tribe (they sing in english and are also a great live band because they have a really good singer Ville Tuomi and he is quite loon at stage. They was a support act of Therapy? in 2002 scandinavian tour everywhere else but not in Finland). http://www.suburbantribe.com

Then there is some big finnish bands like CMX and The Rasmus, they are good and a few others, but if I miss them that doesn’t bother much… :D

Yes, there is a camping area in 5 km from the actual festival area. More info from Call Ruissalo Camping. Tel. +358 2 262 5100. Or then there is Youth Center “Palatsi” which offers accomodation for only 10 EUR a night.

This information is available from the english section on Ruisrock page (http://www.ruisrock.fi/)..

Welcome to Turku!

@Standinline: Jag bor på Åland och ska förmodligen ta färja över till Åbo/Turku med någon polare, borde också ha en ganska bra ide’ om var festivalområdet ligger. Om inte annat kan jag varjefall snacka lite finska. På?

Well I’m not sure about that. I might :). Well, not really. I happen to own an swedish surname for some reason :p, but my language skill are more than poor.
It’s nice to know that Therapy? has so many fans in Finland, because it seems like it’s not very popular in here. Some of the records are sooooo hard to get.
But yeah, I hope to see you all In Ruisrock and in the frontrow. So amazing that one of the greatest bands ever are coming to my homeland! Rock!

Righty.

Pardon all the Swedish, but hey, it’s for a good cause (seeing Therapy? you know) :)

Take care u.

Yes, Danne, Finland is in EU. We have even € (Euro’s) :D and no, you don’t need passport to Finland as we had in Scandinavia our own “Shengen-area” for as far as I can remember (and that goes to 1970’s), which means that people can move within Scandinavia without passport and visas, all you need is photo-ID for example drivers license.

We will have finnish, swedish and russian fans at the meeting in Ruisrock. Will there be more nationalities..?

See you all.
