Since it’s Christmas…

Just out of curiosity, are there any religious people out there? The answer’s probably no, but I was just wondering… And even if not, what do people think of Christianity? and related stuff…

But I still celebrate Christmas because I celebrate the commercial Christmas (full of greed and advertising), religion doesn’t enter our house at Christmas, beside Christmas is an inherant part of our culture.

Hmm, that’s a difficult one. I only go to church with funerals or weddings, I was baptized, and I made my first communion, so I’m supposed to be catholic, I guess. I don’t really care about one’s religion, really. I do believe in God, or something ‘supernatural’. Have you ever had the feeling that someone is watching your back when you need it? I’ve been on the verge of an accident or worse a couple of times, but for some reason, nothing really bad happened to me. Maybe I’m just talking crap here, but I believe in something like an ‘angel on your shoulder’, someone who looking after you. Am I the only one, or am I talking bullshit here?

I am an Atheist myself. (what’s in a name..) My parents were catholics, but they decided to raise me without any kind of preference for any religion. I do believe in something supernatural, something unexplainable if you will. But I also believe that the reason why we can’t explain stuff lies simply in the fact that we only know 3 dimensions. (If you know what I mean) Probably the reason why the universe seems to be a space without any borders.

I am an atheist too, but i dont believe in a greater being or in supernatural and stuff like that.Atheism doesnt have to do with you guys not believing in christianity. When you claim that you are an atheist that should mean that you dont believe in anything concerning
religion or even supernatural. However, i like the essence of christianity, try to be good and love everybody. If we all followed this advice everything would be better

Speaking as a humanist nihilist myself I don’t Christianity is based on loving and caring for other people. I think it means that our Lord comes in the first place and rest will follow.
I think a lot of religions are too disrespectful towards other ones.
I always find it fascinating to see people getting support from their beleiving in a greater power.
However I do not like being dragged into any form of tradition.
So I won’t go out buying a tree because anyone else does it.
I have more respect to people who actually celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ than all those people who try to have a good time with a stuffed turkey because it’s a fuckin’ tradition.
Bye, bye…

I can’t quite believe God exists, because everything around us seems to contradict that. I was christened and then I was confirmed when I was 11. The church was stupid to let me be confirmed. All I remember about the classes is this one time we had ice cream and all I remember about the service is the cake afterwards. That sounds really shallow, but it’s the truth. You shouldn’t christen your kids. It must be easier to grow up neutrally and develop your own views mustn’t it? I feel like a hypocrit to celebrate christmas, but if I don’t, I feel like some kind of Scrooge. But then, I don’t know if I don’t believe in god, because i don’t want to go to hell.

Its weird. I told someone I was an atheist and they called me a Devil worshipper, but how can I believe in the Devil when I don’t believe in God, you can’t have one without the other.

Totally true. Atheists do not fight against religions they just do not
beleive in them. That are two totally different things.
If you are a satanist you do beleive there is a god, because you are fighting against it.
