For anyone who used to play NES…

Check out the self-titled album by a band called The Advantage. They cover everything from Super Mario Bros. to Wizard & Warriors., which is great fun.
Me, I was more a Commodore 64 type of guy, so I would have appreciated covers of these themes more.

have the to give props to the dizzy series too, for its originality and endless hours of fun, i wish theyd ressurect the little guy.

remember the new-zealand story?…i could never get past the see through whale thing…kept tryin to pull a jonah and jump into his mouth…but sadly that just resulted in immediate death

one time i also programmed some code to make a balloon float across the screen…my proudest moment to date…sad ly.

New Zealand story was fucking brilliant, but I remember the game crashed at some point. I did get past the whale tho ;)

Does anyone know where you could get a C64 emulator and games? I’ve still got my NES and SNES in working condition (yeah, that’s right, envy me), but I gave my C64 away to my cousin when I was 16 and thought knowing how to play the guitar would be more impressive to girls than knowing how to get the high-score on “Monty On the Run”.

Unfortunately, I don’t know these games, but I DO remember the joy of my commodore breaking down when I least wanted it, too.

Some classics I used to play:
Zak McKraken
Maniac Mansion
Ghosts ‘N’ Goblins
Law Of The West
Rambo
Commando
Forbidden Forest
Last Ninja
Impossible Mission
Hero

Superunknown: I remember Ghosts and Goblins. My fav C64 games were

Roadrunner - brilliant. Fucking ace. Can’t believe it was released on something as basic as the C64

Mask - based on the cartoon of the same name. You picked 3 vehicles and you could change them by driving over water to turn the car into a boat or whatever. My fav was the motorbike that turned into a helicopter  If I remember correctly, the character who drove said vehicle was supposed to be a rockstar on the show.

Airwolf - again, based on the TV show. A scrolling shoot-em-up that was so good even my cousin who hates computer games thought it was great.

Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles - so much better than the NES version. The only annoying thing was that you had to enter a different code every time it loaded. D’oh.

There were also a few others, but I can’t remember what they were called :( Damn I wish I hadn’t given away my C64 now.

I have an amiga emulator which i got free with Retro gamer magazine but a ‘kickstart ROM’ is required which the mag couldnt give away because it is still copyrighted, bit of a shame because i have always wondered what the Amiga was like graphic-wise etc. i didnt it make it past my Amstrad CPC which i still have a collection of games for, maybe keep them as antiques. i remember a cracking game called ‘Elite’ which was a space-trading game with a very catchy title screen tune and ‘manic miner’, lovely stuff. I was pleased to read that the game NARC,one of the coolest games ever is going to be included on an Arcade treasures collection on the PS2.

do a search for kickstart 1.3 and 3.1. They’re the 2 main kickstarts used. They’re out there even if its not particularly legal

It’s always been here, the original post was about The Advantage. WP has set up a new thread in Chit Chat for this computer talk: http://www.therapyquestionmark.co.uk/wallofmouths/showthread.php? … eadid=5252

So bugger off. All of you, now. Go on!
