You’re a bad mother, indeed.

What can you say after such a match? You can’t win against a top quality side with the likes of Calamity James, Emile Harakiri or Steven Hazard.

PS: I’ll never taunt Christian Ziege again as he’s going to play for my team next season (why did I already renew my season ticket? :( :) ).

Well Otto Rehagel is indeed a very good coach. His work with our National team has been exceptional! He may be German but he feels 100% Greek as well. Well done !!! No wonder the Germany National Team want him to replace him with that big donkey Rudi Voller. But he said no and he stays with us to lead us in the World Cup in Germany in 2006! Greece will go through for sure. I am over to watch the last game againsta Russia in Faro. It will be great.

Last night’s game was a joke. I don’t like either the English or the French football schools but I thoroughly enjoyed it cause it shows you that crap subs give you a stick in the arse. How the hell that CRAP player called Heskey even play football mind you International matches !!!!!!!! Fuckin hell !!!!! The guy sucks !!!! And Sven sucks even more for getting him in the team and furthermore for giving him a place instead of Rooney !!!! It is easy for people to blame Beckham (who I also “hate”) for losing the penalty and also Gerard for the back pass. But James is also CRAP !!!! He is probably the recarnation of David Seaman!!!! His positioning in the free kick and the way he set up the wall was a DISGRACE! His challenge for the penalty was a laugh !!! Not even at rugby you make a challenge like this !!!! So overall totally enjoyed it cause I like football. The English simply can’t play football and have to admit that if it wasn’t for the French players and coaches the Premeiership wouldn’t even exist !!!!! So well done France cause you taught these ignorant big headed English that they are indeed USELES !!!

Thanks for the support everyone !!! :D

I got some replies as well (cause I posted a similar post here at work…)

One think I would say…

SAD SAD SAD .. The English are so SAD people !!!!

What is wrong of saying Greece were good and France were good? Instead they say: Portugal were crap and England were unlucky !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Look at the reply I got but my reply after that shut them UP !

“We might not be able to play football but our bricklayers know how to build a stadium and put a roof on it.”

AND MY REPLY :

Well …

Don’t change subject but if you want to talk about this:

1. All stadiums ARE ready…
2. You know the difference on building on an island (UK) and a sismogenic zone (Greece) and how long that it would take? KFC down the road was built in 4 weeks. You put 1000 people to blow on it it would probably collapse. 3. Well I do hope you get the Olympics and see how you get on with the progress of your buildings. 4. Our Olympic Games will rule even if there is dirty propaganda by the Brits and the Americans cause they always have to “interfere” with everyone cause they are the “best”. 5. I think you should get some more spy-journalists now to check if everyhting is ok… 6. Steve don’t be too sad, it is only a game … But I thoroughly enjoy this !!! :)

If you wanna talk about building progress:

1. 7 YEARS !!!!!!!! Wembley to be decided what is going to happen to it and still NOT READY !!!! 2. West Coast Line was a 1.5 billion project for 4 years kai it will be completed in 10 years for a cost of 10 billion !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

WANT MORE ???????????????????

ok than, I will have a proper entry.

I think France will make a good chance, because they’re really eager to make things right after they messed up big time in the world cup 2002. Like last night, two goals in nearly one minute, so close to the end. It’s only great class (and offcourse a bit of luck) that can overcome the stress in that situation.

and a short ps: I know what off side means :D

It’s been such a nice thread. It’s about football, so no Austrians involved, i.e. no bragging about sex, but then along came marja.
Forget offside, stay offline. :p

off side:
when a player of the team that has the ball, receives the ball at a moment that he is standing (running, wathever) between the goalkeeper and the last defending player of the other team, that receiving player is off side. Well it’s not the moment he receives the ball, it’s the moment the ball is kicked in his direction. :D

But do you really think Figo is such a cutie that he’s worth for you enduring to watch him play?
I mean, from a male point of view, I’d like to watch Anna Kurnikowa, but wouldn’t want to see her on a tennis court. :)

Aaaah, forget it:
Sweden were fantasic yesterday, weren’t they?

@allroy: could you please explain what is not correct? I doubble checked before submitting with my father who has been a soccer trainer for about 15 years, and he told me I had understood quite well.

I’ll admit, I used to play soccer myself. And in fact, I don’t mind watching when the national team plays. But that’s because I like the atmosphere, not the game.

He’s offside when, at the moment the ball’s played, less than two opponents are closer to their goal line than he is. This usually applies to the situation that the striker is between goalie and last defender, but there are more possibilities: one defender or even none at all.

come on allroy, with the , I had it right. You must admit, I gave the most frequent situation. And isn’t that other thing you mentioned position-off side (don’t know if that’s the right translation)? And if so, I thought I heard a belgian commentator say that it’s no longer used in competition.

Tonight Holland-Germany. I going to watch that, just to see the dutch fail. that would make my day :). So Germany you’d better win, or else… :)

O fcourse, I’m different. :) I really am, we’ve got a bunch of ladies accompanying us to our football travels (someone’s got to keep an eye on us drunken bastards, I suppose).

As for tonight, I hope we’ll win, but I’m afraid that this time the better team will do it.
But if we can do Belgians a favour, we’ll try our best. :)

Holland has a lot of talent, but to many ego’s. Germany is a team. Belgium as well, but we don’t have enough talent :(

But enough talent to beat Holland in a friendly some weeks ago.

Just to give a proper definition than my own blur of words (source):

A player is in an offside position if he is nearer to his opponents goal line than both the ball and the second last opponent, unless he is in his own half of the field of play. A player level with the second last opponent is considered to be in an onside position. Note that the last two defenders can be either the goalkeeper and another defender, or two ordinary defenders.
