Excellent choice of gigs. I just wish the Pixies would tour Europe as extensively as America (I’ve only seen them thrice this year :) ).
I hope TMBG and Sebadoh make it over to Germany as well, they’re awesome. In fact I didn’t even know that Sebadoh still existed.

When’s the Pavement reunion tour? :p

well I went to suikerrock last friday, and guess who I saw. Yeah that’s right, the great, the almighty… SCORPIONS

oh my god, do they suck big time. The singer changed shirts like every two songs. And offcourse, the nice leather “blue oysterbar”-cap :). Horrible. I quite enjoyed the drumsolo, but than I think the guitarist needed his moment of glory as well, and that just was to much.

Thank god, I didn’t pay for the ticket

Afterwards, I got in my car and listened to some fine tunes of Therapy? and afghan whigs to soften the pain.

Shirt changes can be something very nice, but not with this hobbit Klaus Meine. And I know exactly what you mean about the guitar solo. Back then it was on a Ki$$ concert, and Ace Frehley enjoyed us with a guitar solo with the title “15 minutes of missing the notes”. Sufferings of this size I had very few in my life.

just a hint; ppl in this hood are talking already for weeks about that gig, just make sure you’re on time, so there’s still place left (and no, seriously, i’m not kidding!)

and to keep up with the “what was the last gig you went to?”-thread-title, i went for the +- 3234251st time to absynthe minded last monday, and that was (again) f-u-c-k-i-n-g a-m-a-z-i-n-g!

Definitely, I even saw him live twice, the first time opening for Supertramp, the second time on a festival with U2, Gianna Nannini, Rick Springfield (do I hear cries of girlish excitement?), Joe Cocker and Willy DeVille.
Blame it on my youth (it’s over 19 years ago).

Saw him live, too. (Must have been at the end of the Eighties. I had some softie times then) And I remember one of his fans. A nearly 6 ft tall women, about 300 lbs. (okay, maybe she wasn’t a 6-fter, but the weight is right) who said to her husband ”If I would have known back then when I married you, that Chris was a single, I wouldn’t even have looked at you. Even now I only can say: Poor Chris de Burgh doesn’t know that he was saved. We all know he’s only a little bit taller than Peter Maffay. *ggg*

That’s why I loved to hang around at those shows (including BAP, Westernhagen, Peter Maffay), you could always find the cutest girls.

I can’t imagine doing unspeakable things while listening to Chris de Burgh. Those songs would kill immediately any rated R thought. :D

no, this is how the story goes. I have never learned how to do a slow dance (because i was too ugly, and nobody wanted me when i was a teenager). And for my boyfriend goes the same thing, only his ecxuse was that he was too tall for the girls his age, it was to difficult (and too obvious) when he tried to kiss the girl (the whole purpose of slow dancing, offcourse :))

So a few months ago when we were at a family-barbeque, they started to play Du. All the oldies jumped and started to dance. Dreadfull to look at offcourse, no feeling for rythm whatsoever. we said to each other: this is the moment to have our first dance toghether without looking too ridiculous :P.

Seriously, I thought that moment would’ve been some years ago, as Peter Maffay’s music is not really en vogue now.
It’s strange that such laughable artists (at least for such satanic rock addicts like MissCE and me, who went through a troubled soft-popped youth to finally see the light of rock’n’roll (at least me, MissCE hangs on to a 40 watt bulb named Vince :p ) really mean a lot to others who also seem to have a decent taste in music.

Do I have such a soft spot? Maybe Electric Light Orchestra, but they are really cool.

So I apologize if I may have hurt your feelings, but Peter Maffay…
starts laughing again…
…nearly chokes…is dead

no, you’re completely right. We also laugh about it. even my mom laughed at us, when I told her. But the song is so completly wrong and just pure kitch, that it becomes funny.

I had my soft years when I liked glenn medairos (or how do you wright that). And offcourse, the fantastic Gerard Joling. But I was ten at the time. Afterwards it became RHCP, nirvana and the sisters of mercy
