choice of holiday

#

Started by marja (sinner)

I’m looking for a nice place to go on holiday. We only leave in september and I would like to have a bit of sun, so scandinavia (allthough I would really love to visitit one day) is out of the question.

Any suggestions here?

Amsterdam is currently on fire. Don’t come here. You’ll melt.

It depends on how much sun you really want, how much money you have to spend, whether it should be a beach holiday or should there be some cultural entertainment in it.

But I’m a bad counsellor anyway, as you should never go on holiday during the footy season. Women

Seriously, a friend of mine loves going to Turkey, beautiful country, the weather’s excellent and it’s not too expensive.

Shop around and you can find some cheap deals to the Maldives, which are quite often all inclusive, so you get as much booze as you want! The place is fantastic, the beaches brilliant and the seas really cool if you like snorkelling or diving (I only became a diver because it was so cool out there). The night-life’s usally quiet (you tend to be stuck on one small island), but you’re usually too knackered by then for that to be a problem.

well at the moment we got really good (for those who love the sun) weather here in rostock and i guess it will stay a while, as we have here the most sunshine during a year then the rest of germany (well that’s what the professionell say)…and we got lots of beautyfull places too, like the city of rostock, Warnemünde and the island “Rügen” and “Usedom”…well if you like nature, want to lie at the beach, don’t want to see one “10floor hotels” next too each other then i would say this is a nice place here…
and about the nightlife: there are surely many things for tourist, but as this a student-city, you got also many parties with very fair prices around…

and what i esp. like is that the water is not that salty like at the other seas or at the oceans :)

I tought I found a fantastic cheap deal to go to martinique, but then I found out it’s raining season there at the moment, so there you have your reason for the good price.

If you are looking for a nice place to go on holiday, I can recommand you Croatia. It’s cheap and the weather is (mostly) very good. There is a bit of everything there: sea, mountains,a lot of islands, some very old and beautful cities (like Dubrovnik) and very very friendly people. It’s also not overcrowded by tourists. The only problem may be to get over there…

Croatia does have a bit of a reputation for -go there before it becomes just the same as the rest of Europe’ so it probably would be cool.

Don’t know about the small coastal area, but we had a great time in Romania last year as well - beer 30p and really friendly people.
