Andy always has loads of guitars with alternative tunnings, Bad Karma is one that springs to mind as well as Church of Noise.

Shameless, Semi Detached & Suicide Pact are deffinetly not ‘E’ album’s, where as Troublegum, Nurse mostly are - and no I’m not banging on about class A’s!

Alex - I will find out which one tonight. It’s a Led Zepplin special I think (around the time of HA’s release), but that really narrows it down :p

I like Drop D where you play the whole chord, creating like an add9 chord..i dont really like drop d for the sake of it…Could you imagine trying to play stalk and slsh without dropping the D.. And that riff on Slither by Velvet Revolver would not sound as good in EADGBE ;)

True every nu-metal band on earth use it, but they are shite guitarists who never solo and the less said about Nu-Metal the better.

The St. Anger riff would not be the same in standard tuning either.

Anyway, how do you feel about semitone down tuning ?

I have a Brandoni Hotrail Telecaster.

Natural Finish, Gold hardware, push pull pot for selecting humbucker or single coil.

If you dont know Brandoni, they supply you with all the parts of a guitar for really cheap and you assemble it yourself, that includes drilling the screw holes, treating the wood and wiring up the pickups ( etc )…

I got a Les Paul too which, apart from having a bolt on neck, is pretty awesome i must say…I have played it through a Marshall stack and it sounds great. When my dad put it together, I took it to a professional guitar tech to finish it off, do the action and truss rod and what have you . Anyway he said it was so good, it was virtually a gibson les paul…

I also have an epiphone supernova in vintage sunburst whcih is also really nice. great sound.

Speaking from Scobophobia, the faded red SG is tuned to E, except for Church of noise, where Andy ‘drops’ the E string to a D. The Black SG with the 3 pickups is tuned to C - not drop C. The white SG used for 10 year plan is tuned to D- probably the same tuning as is used for Bad Karma etc. Unless its drop D, its impossible to tell.

Here’s the wierd thing. Martin’s Flying V is tuned to E, and then Drop D, just like Andy’s red SG, yet when they play ‘Knives’, it is tuned to E flat (he’s playing the main riff on the second and first frets- look closly), and then Back to E again for Screamager… does anyone know what’s going on here?

Just wandering does anyone know what strings michael uses and roughly what amp settings he has on each album?
