My Papa’s a Roach

#

Started by teenrager

I advise all of you waiting dedicationly for the next Therapy? album to buy Infest by Papa Roach as it is the wickedist album of the year (or last) There are some amazing songs on there and get it before Last Resort comes out on single as you’ll be thought of a ‘follower’. In a way I hope that the song doesn’t do well as I don’t want them to end up too commercial like Blink 182 or the Offspring and definetely nothing like what has happened to the now pop band Greenday (new album is never punk) So get down to your local record store and get papa roach, he’s the big daddy.

Last Resort is already on single, for about 2-3 months now. In fact, the new single is Broken home, it’s out for a month now I believe. It’s a great album, isn’t it? Another great album is The Better Life of 3 Doors Down.
Have you guys heard of a band called Spineshank? It’s pretty loud, but there are some great songs on their last album, like Synthetic and Play God. Try it!

Papa Roach is kinda fun, but not That good, in my opinion. Spineshank on the other hand sounds promising. I’ve heard Synthetic a couple of times, and let me tell you, it blew me away!

Are Papa Roach the one’s with the song that goes, ‘Its in our nature to destroy ourselves’? If it is then I think they’re quite good.

Fuck them! They suck. I really think they’re videos are laughable.
They tend to be angry a little bit too much.
And they steal a lot from Korn and especially Deftones.
Listen to: System Of A Down!!!

there’s one thing i should tell you mr. nausea: when i heard relationship of command by at the drive in and r by qotsa for the first time, for the first time in my life i thought ‘rock ‘n’ roll is not dead yet’. those bands you mentionned, except for limp fuckin’ bizkit, braught me 2 of the best albums i’ve heard since long. they’re great.

cheers

Alright, alright.. you may like them. And I was in a piss mood when I wrote that. If you like them then that’s of course okay. There are far worse bands than those, but that doesn’t change what I think of the ones I mentioned. And besides; how many of you took notice of Kyuss when they were around? None of you I suppose, because they never got the hype that QOTSA gets nowdays. Oh well this is pointless.

Cheers!

last resort is the worst good song of the year! ( in other words worst rock, alt.,metal song. i listened to infest in HMV and i lost all sense of sound due to the awfulness. i think album of 2000 (excluding so much for the ten year plan) would have to be NOFX - Pump up the valuum. (sorry if anyone disagrees with any of this message)

Sorry but I borrowed Pump Up the Valuum from a friend and I couldn’t stand it! Limp Biskit are appalling. I was quite pleased when Fred Durst won Arse of the Year in the Kerrang Awards.
Oh and the bassist from Papa Roach is such a tit on the Last Resort video.

if you don’t already have it, get ‘mer de noms’ by a perfect circle; or the latest (or indeed any) incubus album; for cheesy self indulgent but beautiful rock music, get ‘once in a live time’, the Dream Theater double cd live album; or, for something lighter, get ‘it’s all true’ by bellatrix; these are just some of the great things that have come my way this year, I love them all, they’re great!

and fire up napster now and get ‘bright eyes’ by blind guardian; DO IT NOW!

anyone ever heard of a norwegian limp bizkit cover band called limp fitslik? are they any good?

and above all else, DO NOT BUY ANYTHING by Coldplay, ever!

I myself am not too fond about A Perfect Circle and Icubus. A Perfect Circle still has that damn Tool sound, which I don’t like either. And Incubus has some good songs, like Pardon Me (this IS a superb song!), but on the whole, their songs aren’t that good. In my opinion, of course.
Last year, I listened to many albums, and I was particularly impressed by the following:

The Get Up Kids - Something To Write Home About
3 Doors Down - The Better Life
Fuel - Sunburn
Amorphis - Tuonela
Undeclinable Ambuscade - One For The Money
HIM - Razorblade Romance

I know there are some ‘older’ albums among them, but I didn’t listen to them before last year.I had the honour of seeing both The Get Up Kids and 3 Doors Down live last year, both gigs were very impressive. Anyway, those were my suggestions, I love the albums I just mentioned, try them…

Yo. Mr. Nausea!
I’ve been a Kyuss fan for years and I must admit they are/were far better than Homme’s new band. But Kyuss never wanted to be too much in the picture. I think that’s what killed them in the end.
Scott Reeder rulez!

And best albums of 2000?
I don’t know yet. I always wait a couple of years before I decide.
I mean I still buy albums from years ago and they appear to be masterpieces.
I’d say PJ Harvey’s album is my favourite so far.

I think, the best albums of 2000 were:

Soulfly - Primitive
Macabre - Dahmer
Die Apokalyptischen Reiter - All You Need Is Love
Suicidal Tendencies - Free Your Soul and Save My Mind
Shelter - When 20 Summers Pass

Also, what’s up with all those sad ‘feel-good’ guitar bands coming form Amerika? I’m talking about Lit, ‘Story of a girl…’ etc…

I like Lit, and I like Limp Bizkit. Limp Bizkit is a hell of a lot better than having Westlife as number 1. Limp Bizkit are/is (which one is right???) good. Actually, maybe I’m just saying that cos I have a T-shirt of them. It’s gone a bit weird though. Either I’ve grown a lot, or it shrank in the wash. I prefer to believe the latter.

And ‘Conspiracy Of One’ by Offspring is not bad too - don’t you tired by ‘they-sold-they-souls-to-music-biz’ bullshit?
And Marilyn Manson is good, though ‘mechanical animals’ was better.
I like ‘last Resort’ however guys are funny-lookin’. The song is good.
Limps are probably not the worst band in universe but they are DEFENETLY DON’T deserve that noise. Just a fuckin’ bubble. Kids like bubbles.

Having high chart positions, making videos like that, and being ‘commercial’ doesn’t mean a band is bad. Troublegum is probably the most ‘commercial’ album T? did. Does that mean it’s bad?

troublegum represents where t? were musically at that particular point in time, and that kind of music also happened to be getting high in the charts. It wasn’t made to sell records and get high chart placements, it was made because they (the band) were playing like that at the time. I could name lots of albums that have done very well comercially, but were not written for that purpose. Nevermind, for example.
