Top-10 albums of all time

#

Started by trigger

This is a difficult question, isn’t it? My 10 favorite would be:
1.Born In A Crash
2.Rust In Peace-Megadeth
3.Hear Nothing,See Nothing,Say Nothing-Discharge(the ultimate punk album)
4.In Utero-Nirvana
5.Kill Em All-Metallica
6.Green-Forbidden
7.Alice In Chains-Alice In Chains
8.Undisputed Attitude-Slayer
9.Beneath The Remains-Sepultura
10.Storm Of The Light’s Bane-Dissection

I didnt intend to include any T? albums ‘cause they would all be in there, but i just couldnt leave Born In A Crash out. There are also many albums that should be included (like Evol by Sonic Youth,Siamese Dream, or Altars Of Madness of Morbid Angel) but every time i think about it,i have a different opinion.Apart from B.I.A.C. of course.

Here are mine, in no particular order (besides all T? cd’s):

Metallica- Ride The Lightning
Pearl Jam - Ten
Nirvana - Nevermind
Bush - Sixteen Stone
Foo Fighters - The Colour And The Shape
Creed - My Own Prison
Offspring - Smash
Fuel - Sunburn
Feeder - Yesterday Went Too Soon
Amorphis - Tuonela
Undeclinable Ambuscade - One For The Money (great punk!)
Guns ‘n Roses - Use Your Illusion (both are great)

Most of these are pretty familiar, and pretty mainstream, I guess. Albums like Nevermind and Ten are albums that everybody has, I think. Straight classics, if you ask me…

Live - ‘Throwing Copper’
Chumbawumba - Don’t remember it’s name write now (I’m at the job) 0 but it’s kinda ‘the best’ for 10 years compilation.

I’ll try to stick to ten albums, even though it’s hard…

I’m in a Placebo period right now, so I don’t know if Black Market Music will still be on the list in half a year, it’s just that I listen to it all the time at the moment.

It’s pretty hard with groups with many good albums, like Crowded House, Therapy and Del Amitri to pick which albums that should be on the list.

1) EELS Beautiful Freak
2) RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE Rage against the machine
3) CROWDED HOUSE Temple of low men
4) EELS Electro Shock Blues
5) DEL AMITRI Waking Hours
6) THERAPY? Troublegum
7) TIM FINN Tim Finn
8) THERAPY? Infernal Love
9) JELLYFISH Bellybottom
10)PLACEBO Black Market Music

Better reply now than never. Here it goes, I gave this A LOT of thinking, it’s in CHRONOLOGICAL order and T? didn’t make it to the list.

BEATLES - Abbey Road (1969)
BEACH BOYS - Sunflower (1970)
FUNKADELIC - Standing On The Verge Of Getting It On (1974)
PARLIAMENT - The Clones Of Dr. Funkenstein (1976)
PARLIAMENT - Motor Booty Affair (1978)
CLASH - London Calling (1979)
STEVIE WONDER - Hotter Than July (1980)
METALLICA - Master Of Puppets (1986)
PIXIES - Doolittle (1989)
SNOOP DOGGY DOGG - Doggystyle (1993)

Pretty diverse, ain’t it? It’s to give a complete picture of course. For instance, Doggystyle isn’t of course one of the best albums of all-time, but I’m really into hip-hop and this is the only obe I can listen to from the first to the last second. George Clinton has an amazing three albums in my list. Okay. finally some titles that didn’t make it for now,

MARVIN GAYE - What’s Going On THERAPY? - Nurse RADIOHEAD - OK Computer PANTERA - Far Beyond Driven DR.DRE - The Chronic BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN - The River QUEEN - Sheer Heart Attack N.W.A. - Straight Outta Compton TROCKENER KECKS - Een Op Een Miljoen ICE CUBE - Death Certificate BAD RELIGION - No Control and of course a few albums by the same artists as in my top 10 list (More Clinton?).

Cheers.

I might check that livealbum out, but I was a bit dissapointed at Daisies of the Galaxy, so maybe I’ll perhaps try to get hold of the older stuff, E:s solo albums that he did before Eels.
