I’m with Christan and Disgracelands on this one. The first half is excellent. From wicked man on it just nosedives for me. Tango Romeo is embarrasingly poor - T?’s worst song ever IMO.

I didn’t know there was an import version of Shameless until Disgracelands post. I decided to muck around Amazon to look for it.. For the US site their THerapy? stuff is somewhat scattered. I just typed in Therapy (without the ?) and got 70 some entries for musix. I found the import buried around item 50.
One question. Big Time isn’t a Peter Gabriel cover is it?
I see you can buy Denim Demon on a Turbonegro tribute comp.
just trying to determine if I should splurge for the import or go with the Turbonegro domestic comp.

Its 70’s glam rock and all the songs are quite shallow.
Terrible lyrics.
Suicide Pact is way better.

I think it’s class. The only albums I’d put above it are Nurse, Babyteeth, and Troublegum. Possibly OCFA but I’ll have to give that more time.
Their worst album for me is still NANE.

I heard them play I am the Money on the NANE tour. So they do play at least one song live of shameless.
I liked it a lot when it came out, it sounds very different from every other T?-album and has some experiments on it that are unlikely to appear ever again. Some songs are just fantastic: Wicked Man, Dance, This one’s for you, Theme From Delorean, Endless Psychology, Gimme Back My Brain & Joey (well these are interchangeable with many of their other faster punky songs but they’re on par with those)
Bodybag Girl and Alrite are probably their worst songs though. All in All it’s a mixed bag.
For me Semi-Detached is their low point and NANE is fabulous.

I was pretty dissapointed when Shameless came out. It was enjoyable, but it was just so far away from my fave albums (babyteeth, nurse) and I kind of worried about where the band was going to go in the future. Saw them on the Shameless tour and it was a good gig but the whole set bar three tracks (opal mantra, denim demon, he’s not that kind of girl) consisted of Shameless stuff and obligatory Troublegum songs. They even started the encore with the hardly crowd-stirring Body Bag Girl. They had the new logo at this point too and it seemed like they were really leaving behing the T? that I new and adored.
Now that a few years have passed and the band have been going from strength to strength again, it’s nice to have a real oddity like Shameless in the back catalogue. I had it on the other day and literally sang along to every tune, it’s like therapy’s party album! It’s great fun. Lyrically I actually think it’s pretty strong, its got alot of words compared to, say, the new album, and I think Andy put alot of effort in on that front. So I say let T? do what they like, never apologise and all that, cos I’m bound to end up loving it in the end. Actually I’ve gone off High Anxiety a bit at the moment, but I’m sure I’ll play it in a while and love it as much as I enjoyed Shameless last time.

I think this was one of therapys best albums, and i saw them at the hackney ocean on the shameless tour and it was probably the best i saw them live, and i feel i have become a bit of a veteran now.
Yeah, out of the 14 or something times I’ve seen them, the Hackney Ocean gig has got to be the best, such a long set, and such a great venue, perfect for a Therapy? gig. Every time I’ve seen them they’ve been fucking brilliant, but that gig was extra special.
Anyway Shameless, doesn’t really do much for me, I like Gimme Back My Brian, Theme From Delorean and Endless Psychology, but apart from that it’s not that great, it lacks dark side that Therapy?’s best albums have. Once in a while it’s fun to rock out to, I Am The Money gets on my nerves though.

Well, the way I would explain it is as follows:
Therapy? for me has always combined elements of Indie Rock, Heavy Metal and Punk.
This combination has resulted in the diverse musical taste of individuals on this board (myself being more a metal head to be honest).
If you ask me, Shameless was the most punk without integrating any of the other Therapy? styles. If you like all of that kind of stuff, fair enough - probably your album.
When this album came out I thought it was amazing (nice to hear a T? album with good production after SPYF), but out of all T? albums it got boring way to quickly.
I like this album, but lyrically and musically it would finish last for me in the fine discography that Therapy? has produced to date.
I don’t dislike any Therapy? album, just saying that this is my least fav ;)

I loved shameless when it came out - the balls out quite accessible ROCK!
thing is - it’s a good album but it isn’t a good Therapy? album, there’s no compicated percussion and no driving insistant looping riffs and little lyrical malice (stalk and slash excepted)
It was genius at the time and really fitted in well with what I was listening to - I loved it - when I listen to it now, I can’t spin it agian and again and again like some of their albums
Some of the songs are annoying too (alrite)
Better than High anxiety - I thought when HA came out that most of the songs were twee deadhorse flogging songs, and when they played them live I wasnt really into them
some of it is OKThough
