NANE - Best T? album by a mile!

#

Started by LunacyBooth

This is just my opinion but this is the best album they’ve done - ever - no contest! I simply can’t find fault in this album - a work of utter genius! Looking forward to the live gigs more than ever now!

Enough said :)

Couldn’t agree more!!!:) I liked High Anxiety, but hadn’t really enjoyed any of their albums since Semi Detached, but this album is absolutely brilliant. I’ve been listening to it none stop since I got it on Saturday and it grows on me each time – best songs in my opinion are Here be Monsters and Rock You Monkeys.

Well done Guys – two weeks, and you managed to recorded a great album, fair play

Just got it today, and I’m liking what I’m hearing. Can’t form an opinion yet on where it stands with the rest. High anxiety spent about 3 months in my cd player at 6th form so it will have be around that for this one :D

anyone else think the first part of This Ship Is Sinking is similar to Southbound Pachyderm by Primus. I know the songs are completely different in style but it really does remind me of it!

Oops, wrong album. As this seems to have become the actual N.A.N.E. appreciation thread, here’s my two cents:

Just listened to it twice in a row and I already love it. It’s absolutely the best thing they’ve done for ages.
Current favourites: Perish The Thought, Polar Bear, This Ship Is Sinking (I love the outro, reminds me of the start of Hüsker Dü’s Powerline), and Rise Up of course.

Can’t wait to hear these songs live. That energy will definitely make the crowds go wild, at least I will.

Oh my god!
What a fucking amazing album!!

They must´ve fed Mr. Cooper with hundreds of Drum´n´Bass tracks. Wow! Wonder how his drum work will sound live.
BTW: Michael´s bass sounds super-evil. He gets better from album to album.
And I LOVE Andy singing “Long Distance”.

My faves so far:
Perish the thought- sounds a bit semi-detached like, great guitar during the verse
Polar Bear - I like this “jamming feeling” in the second part of the song and Andy´s “sad” voice
Long Distance - Best song on the album, reminds me of the feeling after a drunken night. Less sleep and a headache. Dunno why…
This Ship is Sinking: Sounds so godamn Joydivisionlike. A great tune.
Last One To Heaven´s a loser: Therapy? go Motörhead! Grrr…

Yeah, T? kick my hairy butt once again :D

Well, I wouldn’t say it’s the best album they’ve ever made but I like it’s being so unpolished and raw.
Panic, Rise up, Here Be Monsters, Perish The Thought and Rock You Monkeys are my personal favourites.
I don’t like “Polar Bear” (ok, good riff but the rest…)and “This Ship Is Sinking” though…

Listen to how they use the wahwah pedal on HA (Nobody here but us) and on NANE (So Called Life). Stands for the big difference of the two albums IMHO.

My fav Therapy album is normally the latest one out, High anxiety was my album of 2003, and NANE is now my album of 2004, and probably the majority of 2005. A band will be hard pressed to come up with an album that comes anywhere near close to the power of this one. Sorry if that was a bit star wars-ish. Cant help it, trilogy out, had to watch.

Word of advice, never play lightsabers with empty reef bottles or remote controls with your friend. Its only going to go wrong. More wrong than The Phantom Menice, more wrong than That little twat who plays young anikin Skywalker, more wrong, than JAR JAR BINKS. I think you can all understand the seriousness of what i speak…

Only had 1 listen so far (bought it today) and it’s certainly a different album to the last few. Early Therapy sounds in there. I need to listen again, but I’m not dissappointed. Will it replace SP-YF as my fave album? Dunno about that.

One thing I LOVE is the sound of Andy’s guitar. Particularly on perish the Thought during the verse bits. Fantastic. And the overdubs in that track are superb.

:D

I don,t think I could pick a favorite song yet but the ones that stick out for me are, Rise Up; Perish The Thought; Here be monsters and Last One To Heavan’s A Loser. Although that’ll probly change again tommorow! Can’t wait to see ‘em live.
