That cover version was done by half of rem (gutiar and vocals by rem, bass and drums by u2) and half of u2. Does it count as a true cover?

With or without you- t?
Hurt - Johnny Cash (R.I.P. The first true rocker. Who else was hitting photographers in that day and age…)
Hurt- N.I.N. and bowie (again a half-cover, but hey, it´s good).
Lovesong- Snake River Conspiricy (Great industrial version).
Eleanor Rigby- Godhead (hate the beatles, but the cover is great).

That’s fucking weird

I meant to include “that Joy Division Cover” by Moby but since I couldn’t come up with the title I just didn’t.

It really must be a good cover then.

No, they considered it to be an ode to them like it was really. Should AC/DC sue The Darkness for using the riff of Thunderstruck in Making Out? I don’t think so.

There was some hostility about it - but they made up and Dave Grohl drummed for them on the last album

The Come As You Are riff is nicked from Killing Joke - I’m not saying The Fall didn’t have a song called Eighties - but the one in question is from the Night Time album
