Cigarettes

To complete the favourite vices threads (actually we’ve not had drugs yet…), what’s your (cancerous) poison?

Right now I’m smoking a rather delicious “Sampoerna” which my housemate brought back from Indonesia. It’s mild, smooth, and strangely sweet-tasting (it’s got cloves in it), and very smokable indeed.

Same here. I stopped smoking a few months ago. Of course sometimes I go mental for a ciggie, but most of the time I’m happy with my choice. :D

I’m actually on nicotine patches at the mo, the amount of chest infections I’ve had in the past year has been ridiculous, a real pain in the ass (or should that be chest?) so I thought fuck it enough’s enough . I’m only on day 5 but I gotta say they’ve worked well so far. Knocked the old “herbal” smokes on the head over the last month or so too.

Until last week I smoked Regal Filter (classy!) When I was younger I used to buy Lucky Strike for special occasions too - there was only 1 or 2 places in Belfast I knew that sold ‘em, so you had to go a bit out of your way. I brought 200 back from Italy in the summer with “Il Fumo” plastered all over them as well

“il fumo” means “the smoke” or “smoking”.
what unpronuciable cigarettes do we have?
MS? Alfa? Nazionali? Lido? Linda?

Anyway this summer i went to Bosnia and came back home with 60 packs of cigarettes, as they costed 0.75 cents (for my girlfriend, as i don’t smoke)

Those were the ones I started smoking with! So damn ‘em! Damn ‘em for their taste (what’s worse than a sweet cig??) and damn ‘em for making me an addict inspite of their taste.

Tried to cut the habit twice, didn’t work. I used to smoke marlboro lights, gouloises, west lights and now I’m stuck with muratti. well, that’s a real quality smoke. If I could only quit…

Me neither. And Sarah, I <thought> you said you’d given up..?

Never really understood why when faced with the the choice:

Let’s do something that may shorten our lives and will make us smell bad; or

Let’s not

so many people chose the former. Still, whatever floats your boat I guess. I’ll save my pennies for more whisky.

I smoke Smart menthol and I roll my own fags without a machine so I get the best taste for my lungs:)
If I buy factory made fags, then it´s Marlboro menthol or LM menthol.

Have smoked for almost 25 years now in a row. Have tried SEVERAL times to stop smoking but it seems I´m totally hooked, it´s like damn heroin (doctors compaire it to that terrible drug). It´s the only bad habbit that is left from my restless days, but it tastes always so good. Gotta go for a fag now to the balcony and get myself a cop of coffee

As a young boy I wanted be a cop but the life drifted me to whole different atmosphere. I became a baker, not a biker:)
And now I work with hyperactive kids and it fits me as I used to be one hell of a kid too.
Back to topic: in my work I smoke only about two fags a day when I have my coffee and lunchbreak. And then we who smoke go outside far away from the kids so tehy cannot see us and smell the flavor.
