so i wanted to have a week-end with my girlfriend in one european city (most like UK or Ireland —> flight - 2 nights there - flight) from fryday to sunday or from saturday to monday…

and why not to go where there will be a T? gig?

if someone of you could suggest me one of the followings:

Friday, Nov 26th Leadmill - Sheffield, UK
Saturday, Nov 27th Moshulu - Aberdeen, UK
Friday, Dec 3rd Fez - Reading, UK
Sunday, Nov 28th Garage - Glasgow, UK
Sunday, Nov 21st 013 - Tilburg, Netherlands

i’m searching something to do and something to visit also, so i’m not travelling only to watch a T? gig…
if ya got some suggestions, tell me!
thanx

If you get a chance to go to Dublin, I would strongly recommend it.

As for Reading, well, the Fez is not a bad venue, pretty small etc etc. The town itself is a god-forsaken hole and I would suggest never having to visit it.

Can’t speak about the other towns in your list.

The Leadmill is a great live venue and T? always seem to put on a superb show there. However, Sheffield is a good town to go out drinking and to night clubs but there isn’t much to do in the day time [that isn’t drink related] except shopping or a visit to the botanical gardens or museum of modern art. You can use Sheffield as a base to go visit the Peak District and other local areas, but you would need to plan where you are going.

Great party town but bugger all to do in the day I’m afraid.

Glasgow or the Netherlands would probably be better.

sheffield semms to be a good place: you know you can’t pretend to visit lots of places in 2 days…

i’m getting back my d.l. in the first days of november, so i can rent a car, drink a few bottles of 7-years-old Havana and get my ass to Leeds, if i know you’re walking somewhere there..

Cool. Just don’t make your girlfriend get in the car with you. When you’re in intensive care after crashing into a tree, I’ll be sure to show her the town.

You can probably get a us out to the Peak district, which should look quite cool. There’s also various places that you can go bowling/laserquesting at in Sheffield, and the Meadowhall Centre is one of the best out-of-town shopping centres in the UK, although it does get busy at the weekend (lots of chavs). The Leadmill is a cool venue too - had many happy nights wasted in there.

only problem is its a Monday gig :(
I agree there ain’t much to do in Sheffield - believe me, i grew up there..however the Peak District is superb for Countryside Scenery if thats your bag!
But Leeds is great and I love the Cockpit venue - its my second home (well third after my house and the theatre i work in :D)
Leeds is a great city - theres lots of shopping to be had in the daytime, and museums and a lovely canal etc. it’ll keep you entertained..

The Netherlands is suprisingly like Dublin, as far as I can tell, but it lacks that indefinable ‘Irish charm’, and is a bit less grotty.

Agree with everything said so far about Sheffield and would add that a visit to the Fat Cat pub is also highly recommended. But it is a bit limited on what it has to offer during the day, depending on what you were looking for, and compared to other places. Still, public transport around the area is pretty good.

Glasgow is a fantastic city with loads to do. A trip to the People’s Palace is a must if only to see Billy Conolly’s banana boots. Beers cheap too. Byres Road - excellent place for a pub crawl. Easy to get round the best bits using the underground or trains. And contrary to popular belief a very friendly place.

Title: Reading Gig

The reading gig should be good cause when I booked the ticks they said its open for the night and there is a club afterwards. It is pretty small but quite a cool place.
Reading sucks really but they cleaned it up a lot lately.

However nearbythere are loads of cool things to see. Marlow/ Henley on Thames, Oxford is not so far away and thats a cool cist. In fact T? play the day before in a cool club the Zodiac. any other thoughts email me. good luck

what can you tell me about aberdeen?

infernalo man: i’ve been in oxford a few years ago, it’s a good town, and i lived in a very friendly family.. i’ve been to the zodiac too once, but i found just a disco night……i can’t choose a destination… it’s hard!… but i have to book the flight right now if i want to save some money…

glasgow seems to be right, but i’m also thinking to go to ireland, even without catching a t? gig, just to travel there…

It is indeed Japanese. Lyrics taken from a great song called “304†Ž¿A”’Ž€‚̍÷” (304 goushitsu, hakushi no sakura) by Dir en grey. Best Japanese rock band around
(^-^)b

I like Scotland a lot and I went to Aberdeen too; had a good time. Yet I don’t know what the venue is like. I’ve only been to the Lemon Tree.
