Ulrich is a crap drummer, so it’s anyone but him.
I don’t think that the Blink 182 songs are so complex as to really say how good a drummer Travis Barker is.

So I’d go for Neil. :)

no question! travis got some really good drum pattern… yes could be that blink songs dont have too complicated rythms, but he has some really good fill ins in the songs.. i think he is a amazing drummer.. i saw a few studio clips on tv.. have you seen that? if yes its clear who is the better drummer!

i hate blink 182 and i really hate (new) metallica.
with 2 extremely different stiles its hard to compare but when comparing lars drumming on classics like one, damage inc. and dyers eve compared to what travis does with blink which is basic punk drumming (sounds identical to every drum pattern used on every nofx album etc.) i’d have to go with lars (of old)

Travis without a doubt. Listen to the way he drums, if it weren’t for him blink would have been nothing.

Lars is just a shit head, but still a very good drummer.

Travis, every time.

When Blink were last at Reading, which was the last time I saw them, Travis had just come back from his Transplants experience and was playing a very stripped down hit. The amount of noise he made with it and the energy he put in was phenomenal… It was exhilarating to watch.

Love Metallica & am a bit indifferent about Blink182…

…but Travis is a better drummer, lars is a shit drummer and it proved it at Donnington when Metallica had a real drummer play for them

The stuff that Travis does in Blink isnt all that great but the stuff he does in the Transplants is pretty fuckin good - I dont really like the band but you have to tip your hat at what he does using just a kick, snare and hi-hats - i dont even think he uses cymbals on it…

I once heard someone refer to Lars as ‘the metrognome’ which i thought was quite funny… almost as funny as ‘tubby tubthumper’

I thought Jordy was pretty poor…

But I guess that’s just live — I like his recorded drumming, but his style, he hardly tickles the drums, is slightly frustrating to me.

Not being judgemental but when I refer to Travis I mean as in recent Blink material, as well as The Transplants, as a whole really.

As in Little Angels / Skunk Anansie / Feeder ?

I loved the Little Angels. How were they ever allowed to break up?!

There are some great drummers out there; Bill Bruford,Terry Bozzio. But the best at the moment is Neil Cooper. (Lars U isn’t even worthy to polish (:)) Neil’s drum sticks)

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You’re kidding, right…?!

Joey at Donington saved the day (well, still a ruined day, but he saved it as much as it was ever gonna get saved) and his drumming towers way above the godawful Lars Ulrich.

Personally, I prefer a simple style with a bit of bounce and the odd fast run here and there. My money at the moment is on Mikkey Dee, who has played for Motorhead for something like 15 years. Placebo have a cool drummer too. As had Panda Love Unit, til they split up this week.:(

Nope, not kidding. Yeah he saved the day. That is a reflection of that the fact that he has been playing along with Metallica records since the age of dot. Which is probably similar to many tens of thousands of kids playing along with their favourite band on whichever instrument they are learning.

It doesn’t mean his drumming is particularly invigorating to watch.
